Iqbal Mohammad Sheikh married a Hindu Rupali Chandanshive after they fell in love three years ago.
The couple also have a two-year-old son from the marriage.
However, due to undue pressure for wearing #burqa and take part in Islamic rituals, Rupali was living separately with her child for the past few months.
Iqbal had come to meet Rupali on September 27, 2022, to persuade her to come back as she had already demanded a divorce due to the ongoing dispute.
He had already decided that he would kill Rupali if she refused to come back home. First he tried to request her, but when she refused, the infuriated man dragged her to a dark corner of the street in Tilak Vihar area, Mumbai and launched a knife attack on her. Rupali’s throat was slit and there were stab wounds on her hands.
Iqbal fled the spot after locals heard Rupali’s screams and started coming out of their houses. They later informed police; rushed Rupali to a nearby hospital, however, she was pronounced brought dead.
Iqbal was arrested.

2nd Half & Full Review: Dhurandhar 2
Technical quality continues in the second half, but with flaws. The pre-climax feels dragged, and a strong antagonist is missed.
So , actually it should have ended like a normal revenge drama, but Aditya Dhar had other ideas. That climax. The twist and ending make the film special.
Ranveer Singh deserves every award. Highly recommended. One of the greatest films ever.

First Half Review: Dhurandhar 2 Already feels like this could be the greatest Indian film ever. The filmmaking is really good, and the music carries the film well. Everything feels very real and intense. The interval twist was really good and sets up the second half perfectly. Only issue so far is the length, but the positives easily cover it.

The videos coming out of Uttam Nagar, Delhi are extremely worrying. The matter should've calmed down after Tarun's death, but Delhi Police has allowed hatemongers to polarise the situation in order to manufacture a riot. This nincompoop wants police to be removed for five minutes so he can k*ll Muslims. How has police allowed such rallies in a sensitive area? The last time a Hindutva leader - Kapil Mishra - did this in Delhi, we lost 53 lives. Why is Delhi Police allowing it to happen again?
