I took out a $10,000 loan to fund my trading. I lost it in 6 weeks. I still had to pay it back while working 3 jobs, while losing every new challenge I bought, while pretending to my family that everything was fine. I've never told this story publicly before. But if anyone reading this is about to borrow money to trade, don't. Fix your process first. Then scale with money you can afford to lose. I learned that lesson at the most expensive price possible.

2/2 On one hand this stings, on the other I’m thankful I’m even able to take such a loss. Seems like just yesterday a “bad” loss was $500. Just trying to find some kind of outlook to make myself feel better. Important to note this is just a 2-3 month setback, not a blowup.

1/2. Been doing better than ever over the last several months until today when I made a serious mistake and took the biggest loss of my career. Not much to say. I knew what not to do, did it anyway. Trying not to let it bother me, but then I feel bad if I don’t let it upset me.

Completely REKT today on $BIRD. Shorted the open and got skipped for a -30k loss, then revenge traded with size and covered over 20 for a blow up max loss.

(SIM ACC) 2/18 and 2/19 Shorted double my position by mistake and took a fat one on RXT had decent news. Once I realized, I got slightly adamant I gave it more room than I shoulda. ON 2/18 I had no size cuz I expected more push into the RIME move sad. Lost Big won small

I’ve been trading on and off since COVID, mostly doing options but didn’t have a profitable year until 2025. I took $50k to $300k by mostly just trading TSLA with monthly options. Near the end of the year, the market was really volatile so I didn’t want to hold positions for too long, so I started doing weeklies and 0dte. Big mistake. I dropped from $300k to $90k was able to make it back to $240k then back to $100k then hit big on 3 plays that took me back to $230k. I was able to end the year banking on over $150k in profits but the first week of 2026 I blew almost all of it. Lost $180k across 2 days trading while tilted. Tried to make some money back with the remaining amount and ended up losing another $25k. I decided I needed to pull out as my mental state is not well after losing my entire net worth. Tax season is coming up and because I only traded 1 stock, my losses from 2025 won’t be recognized due to the wash sale loss rule and I’m projected to owe ~$80k in taxes which I only have $40k in the bank to pay. I’m almost 40 and basically broke.

@piratestocks100 Unfortunately, my broker liquidated my account and by the time they could cover all the shares, I was -$16,000 that I owed them. I never thought that would be possible.

@TyEuston It’s suspended for stock manipulation. So when it reopens it will most likely dump to under $1. What price did you go in on your short?

@TheShortSniper This should’ve been suspended on its first initial halt of $14. Now look at the mess from the lack of action from the @SECGov May I ask how many shares and what is your average price you are short?
