Slightly early/late contact points are still loud barrels due to top hand+back elbow holding place throughout path, and barrel being in zone early+in zone thru contact. Offensively, it’s highly advanced timing across the board. Timing of when to move relative to pitcher’s delivery, of getting into launch by release, and timing of contact points. This innate skill combined with early readiness, swing beginning at toe touch, and elite path mean he doesn’t need standout fast twitch to barrel top arms consistently. Defensively, his anticipation, reads, and routes allow AVG speed to play up. Ultra relaxed upper half w/ simplified, repeatable trigger built to last and match pitcher’s rhythm. Gradual sink thru entire move and constant pressure on inside of back heel+hammy+glute helps keep hips down thru swing, a rarity at this age. Ideal launch position and back elbow+back hip pinch make for impeccably clean turn. Lands & swings with head over inside of back hip, putting hips on preferred incline plane for loft. Due to this, he doesn’t need to steepen barrel angle to produce proper XBH trajectory off bat. Swings into inside of back leg, maintains pressure into ground while transferring energy into barrel and thru contact. Has turned most important mechanical absolutes needed for MLB into muscle memory at 16 y/o.
