The book sorta gets at the fact that they’re master builders/engineers but limited in knowledge of science. It makes a point of saying how Rocky was so excited for the laptop Grace gives him because the laptop held all of the advanced science humans had discovered. You’re not wrong though

there's a few plot holes and unexplained things but the main problem I had with it was that [spoiler] [spoiler] [spoiler] the eridians were advanced enough for interstellar travel but didn't know about radiation or relativity. (and couldn't figure out the ecology of the astrophage + taumoeba despite their evident sophistication) that is just not plausible.

Perhaps the ad could have landed differently if it took a different approach than “fun” — could have been inspirational or have a twist at the end. The industry is not perceived as fun. People have fatigue. They need it not shoved down their throats but feel like financial freedom offers an escape. I loved the Coinbase Millennial ad a few years back. Production like that could really land at SB.

The world has viewed crypto as a net negative for a long time. And honestly, who can blame them? It’s been scandal after scandal. It’s a shame, because Coinbase and others don’t deserve it, but that’s what being in a dirty fish tank does to your brand.

My guess is also outlandish, so that no one player would be able to co opt bitcoin the way that Microstrategy did to BTC, because it would be far too expensive to do so. I imagine Satoshi had this mapped out on some level. If you’re trying to change the worlds financial system, you wouldn’t do all this just to let the banks buy it up again at $69000
