With the injury history now on top of limited velo, I will be curious if the Rockies try and push Coupet as a reliever.
Not a traditional profile by any means but if he can get the extra velo tick in shorter outings, you can pair that with premium feel for and ability to spin.

According to his IG, Isaiah Coupet is in Spokane. Coupet, 2023 4th round pick with incredible spin, was sidelined for most of the 2025 season. He has made 7 appearances with the ACL Rockies. 7.1 IP across 7 games, 3H, 3BB, 8 SO. Will be nice to have him back in the fold

@blakestbanter Reddemann, Davis, Swartz, Barrett, Scott, Sagouspe, Negrete, Larson, and Swink have all had Tommy John Surgery already. Clearly that was something the FO valued while scouting pitching prospects.

@OakTreeStatus Yeah definitely agree, I'm pretty anti multi year SP signings for CO. Could look to a team like Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Tampa, etc who have 7+ viable starters on their 40 and more on the way

Not as strong of a season as I was expecting out of Gracia but I've got to stand on business before the draft kicks off:
I think teams will be kicking themselves very soon for not taking Gracia in the top 5.

Arguably the best fastball in this year's draft belongs to UCLA's Cal Randall. Sits 98-100, nearly 7 ft extension, above avg carry, low launch (-4.0 VAA)... Hard to draw up a better heater.
Hard slider is underdeveloped but the key to him becoming a shutdown MLB reliever.

@davidchood That's probably a realistic spot for him although I'd even love him a round earlier for some savings. Probably doesn't have a rotation path but he can probably contribute to a big league pen early next year

@rocktober19 Yeah Curiel is a talent. He still needs to work on getting the ball elevated and I always mildly worry about guys with higher GB%s coming into the pros but it's definitely workable

@OakTreeStatus @BasebaIIExpert The one key I'd flag is Nolan Jones's zone swing%. His BB% was propped up on passivity (who swings at < 50% of strikes???). That's mostly just me coping though.
