@MattMcGillvs @CateSask There is no such thing as equalization payments.
There are services that are provided to every Canadian no matter where they live and those services have a cost attached
This service costs ~ the same for every jurisdiction.
Some don't make enough money to cover the taxes required

There’s an Alberta separation petition circulating right now and it’s already tangled up in constitutional questions, including a court challenge from several Alberta First Nations.
So here’s my question: if you’re actively trying to leave Canada, why should you still expect the benefits of Canada’s economic system and trade arrangements (like exporting your cattle and canola) while you work to dismantle the country you’re profiting from?
Are those who signed the separation petition going to sell their products in the new trade deals and removed tariffs, and if they are, should they even be allowed to?
English

@CateSask @amadeusrock I think you should of done a better job of understanding that Canada expects money from Alberta while blocking its industries. Is that fair? It’s basically the same question you are asking above.
English

@amadeusrock It’s not that hard to just read the post and answer the question.
English

@CateSask So if Alberta does not sell its goods and services where are the other provinces going to get their equalization from? It’s almost like the provinces that receive Alberta’s money should not block their pipelines? Why would those provinces expect the benefits from Alberta?

To get more major infrastructure projects built faster in Canada, we have to shift our mindset from “why” to “how”.

@StephanSabeski @Tablesalt13 You can’t build that house for 145k…
English

@Tablesalt13 That's a 145k normal price all day. Prices need to come back down to early 2000 prices.

@Gray_Area @CKOMNews What did you think was going to happen to a bear that falls out of a tree? This is the third bear that they have killed.
English

@Tylakeman @CKOMNews Internal injuries after falling from the tree it was tranquilized in. Ya, they killed it.

@CheriDiNovo Imagine posting this thinking Alberta recieves a transfer payment

@AOgieglo So is dependency on oil. So instead of bringing it from over seas why not use our own that actually has environmental controls?

We should start naming wildfires after fossil fuel companies, similar to hurricanes.
"Smoke is in the air today from Forest Fire Cenovus so you might want to make sure your kids take their puffer to school, and limit your time outdoors"
CTV Regina@ctvregina
Large portion of eastern Sask. under air quality advisory Friday as smoke from wildfires moves in ctvnews.ca/regina/yorkton…

@AOgieglo I just honestly can’t imagine living here and saying the non sense you do. Modern health care needs petroleum products but here you are. Block me, I love the stupidity.

English

@Tylakeman Just because an industry pays taxes doesn’t make it inherently good or beyond criticism. See tobacco, etc.
Don’t like what you see here. Block me and move on.
English

@AOgieglo Don’t attack the industries that fund our social programs. Do better
English

@AOgieglo What did the wooly mammoths pump out of the ground to end the ice age Adam?
English

@AOgieglo 8000 fires a year in Canada
4000 from lightning which causes 85% of the damage
2700 fires a year caused by humans which %34 of all fires
So 84% of fires cussed by
Lightning and humans

@CarlaBeckSK So we’re mad the city over charged Costco for the land?
English

Let me get this straight…
The City of Regina was close to finalizing negotiations on a second Costco location (Yay! Love Costco) and then the Sask. Party undercut their bid to try to force the location into the GTH.
Now, the city has to pay nearly $7 million of your money to keep the Costco.
The Sask. Party’s games with the GTH know no bounds.
They risked Costco and they wasted your money. Shameful.

.@WBrettWilson donated $5,000 to the Sask Party last year despite not living in our province.
