What I learned this year with place kicking. Kicking is all mental. One tiny mistake like ur plant step off, your head lifting too soon, a sudden shift in focus, and the whole thing falls apart. It’s you versus your own thoughts. Trying to stay calm while everything rides on one swing of your leg. Confidence and focus is everything. If you’re a good player but ur not in the right headspace. The ball will tell on you instantly. Kicking isn’t just channeling your body to kick far and high, it’s channeling a piece of your mind. With that being said, I’m ready to channel that over to my next 4 years in college.
