Quick hail storm just moved through Kannapolis. Pea-size hail for about 2-3 minutes. @GMengel

This could be a such a dilemma with this strong storm front. Does NASCAR try and wait it out until very late tonight to finish an already-official (by then) race if this gets here before full distance? If they can even wait that long, it would almost certainly finish on FS1...remember, the 800th episode of The Simpsons is tonight at 8 p.m.

@JackRuddenWX @NWS_BaltWash I’ve had the same issue with my Ambient station.

My weather station has never given my an inaccurate wind reading. When I tell you it sounded like my roof was going to blow off, I’ve never heard anything like that before. @NWS_BaltWash could I actually have gusted that high? It jumped from 53mph to 72mph!

Some knarly winds are coming through Friday night and into Saturday morning as a cold front moves in. #kannapoliswx

.@NWSGSP had been calling what played out yesterday for the entirety of last week. Even early on in the forecast discussions. I-85 corridor and east of I-77 were the hot spots from just about day one. Another reason to follow your local NWS office and stay informed. While models can be all over the place – these offices stay steady and committed to giving you the best forecast possible.

@webberweather any idea on single day snowfall record for Cabarrus County? Found 13.2”, just not sure on validity.

@NWSGSP any data on single-day snowfall records for Cabarrus County? I know specifally Kannapolis would be harder being split between Cabarrus and Rowan.

I can’t wait do a post-event snow map for this weekend’s snowstorm in the Carolinas We’re watching a true all-timer snow event unfold in the western Piedmont of NC Certainly giving February 2004 a run for its money for many along the I-85 corridor between Greensboro & Charlotte

I just want to take in the fact it has not stopped snowing for over 12 hours… ❄️ #KannapolisWX
