This month marks 1 year of owning my Tesla Model Y and I wanted to share some thoughts. This will be long but stick with me. First some background. I come from an automotive background. I started working on cars in high school and went to college for automotive technology and worked in shops/dealerships through college and for a couple of years after. I have owned a range of cars from Oldsmobile Grand Prix to Dodge Rams. Prior to buying my Tesla I was driving a 2008 Toyota 4Runner. The tax credit was on its way out and so was the 4Runners transmission. At that point I decided there was no better time to make the transition but my wife was hesitant. I scheduled 3 demo drives on a weekend and brought the family with me. First we drove the Cybertruck, then the Model Y then the Model X. We loved everyone of them for different reasons. We ended up getting a Model Y for a 24 hour demo drives and by the next day we were 100% sold and my wife was on board but said she still didn’t trust it on road trips. After about a month of having it we decided to give it a chance on our road trip from Va to Fl to go to Disney world. We drove over 700 miles on FSD V13 and hit superchargers along the way. By the time we reached Florida my wife deemed the Model Y the “roadtrip car” going forward. It was too easy. The car drove for us and supercharging and route planning made range anxiety non existent. The Model Y has become the family car. We rarely ever drive my wife’s Rav4 anymore when we are all together. So my thoughts after 1 year and 17,000 miles. ✅Comfortable. This car is a very comfortable ride. The steering is tight and it just hugs the road and the shocks absorb everything. ✅Tech. Obviously Tesla is known for their tech but for those that haven’t experienced it don’t fully understand it. Everything works so seamless together and things like Pet Mode and Keep for AC are amazing and should be standard in every vehicle. The entertainment options are a life saver on long trips or while waiting in the car. And over the air updates are how everything should be updated. It’s seamless and changes your whole car overnight. ✅Maintenance. In 17,000 miles I’ve had to refill the wiper fluid 3 times. Part of that is because FSD will auto use the washer fluid and wipers to keep the cameras view clear but still cheaper than any oil change. ✅Profiles. It’s nice that everything is saved between my wife and my profiles and it will auto adjust based off who’s driving. ✅FSD. I’ve seen it grow from v13 and it is already a drastic improvement. It’s mind blowing technology that you can’t live without once you have it. ✅Service. It’s all in the app and very easy. The advisors and techs have all been very friendly and helpful. ✅Storage. There’s so many spots to store things between the frunk and the trunk. 🚫Space. For a family of 4 who normally has a 5th person it gets tight. 🚫Soft Paint. Tesla is known for their soft paint and that is still true here. I’ve noticed a lot of scuffs and scratches. I obviously have more good to say than bad because this car has been amazing. I’m sure I’ve missed some stuff but as a motor head who went EV I have no regrets. ICE vehicles have their place and not all EVs are created vehicle but Tesla makes a darn good vehicle overall. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Early reports circulating on social media and family accounts claimed a man was killed by a headshot inside a Tesla at the Superchargers with his wife injured. Those details were never officially confirmed by police. The only publicly identified person tied to a Tesla is taxi driver Terry Dudley. He was shot twice in the back while charging, survived, underwent surgery in Boise, and was reported in stable condition. Police still have not released the full list of victim names.

This is big news no Tesla owners/drivers killed in the Twin Falls Idaho shooting, I hope this is true and most got away, of course we know some did not 😢 According to Groks latest No Tesla owners are known to have died in the Twin Falls In-N-Out shooting. The only publicly identified person connected to a Tesla is Terry Dudley, a North Star Taxi driver. He was shot twice in the back while charging his Tesla at the Superchargers near the restaurant. He survived, was airlifted to a Boise hospital for surgery, and was reported in stable but serious condition. Videos from the scene show the shooter firing into parked Teslas (including at least one blue Model Y) in the parking/charging area, but authorities have not released the full list of victim names or confirmed that any of the deceased were Tesla owners or occupants of those vehicles. One In-N-Out employee was confirmed killed, and the overall civilian death toll stands at least at two (plus the shooter), with several others injured. Official names of the deceased have not yet been fully released.
