@RichardJ1959 @afcbpodcast Why would he be knackered if he isn’t playing much? He’ll be a perfect squad player for England in the summer to replace Anderson. Getting coached by an elite manager & learning off the best CM in the world. I don’t see any negatives around it whatsoever.

@RichardJ1959 @afcbpodcast I disagree. I think it’s fair to say since his call up in Nov, AS form has been exceptional & that may have been from call up. Learning off the best players in the world can only be a benefit to us, not a detriment. He will be very close to making WC squad & he deserves it if so.

@afcbpodcast This may sound selfish & disregards the ambitions of the player but I hope Alex doesn’t go to the World Cup. He won’t start as he’ll be behind lots of others for his position. He will then return & need a rest & we’ll lose our current best player for the first month of the season
