Quantum Machines successfully ran Rigetti’s commercially available Novera 9-qubit superconducting processor using their own OPX1000 control hardware and QUAlibrate software achieving 99.5% median two-qubit gate fidelity across the full chip. Why this matters: This is one of the highest full-system performances ever recorded on a Novera processor with an external control stack. It proves that high-performance superconducting quantum processors can now be calibrated and operated reliably outside the original manufacturer’s lab. Although Quantinuum uses trapped ions like $IONQ, it doesn’t control them exactly like $IONQ (it uses race tracks to physically move ions, whereas $IONQ uses more stationary chains manipulated by lasers). But $IONQ is its closest competitor so it makes sense to compare the two. In 2025, $IONQ generated $130 million in revenue. Quantinuum generated $30,9 million. At the same time, $IONQ lost $512,1 million. Quantinuum lost $192,6 million. At the end of 2025, $IONQ has $3,3 billion cash balance. Quantinuum had $762,6 million. $IONQ market cap is $23,8 billion (P/S = 183). Quantinuum market cap is expected to be $12,7 billion (P/S = 411). There’s one structural advantage Quantinuum has: It’s demonstrated 50 error-corrected logical qubits. $IONQ is only getting ready to demonstrate its 256 qubit system later this year. We don’t know how many logical qubits there will be. Even if you take into account that quantum stocks trade at high revenue multiples, Quantinuum’s valuation is overblown. Some of the underwriters are JP Morgan, Bank of America, and Morgan Stanley. They want to make money on the IPO. If the stock gets too much hype and soars, they’ll offload their shares as retail will be buying. The stock will most likely drop. Therefore, I’m not buying Quantinuum in the first few weeks. I want to see its earnings reports and financial tables. I want to know how much Quantinuum will dilute shareholders. I want to wait out the volatility and see where the stock settles. Then I’ll consider it for a long-term investment.

I listen to Amit religiously twice a day!! And I remember when this clip went viral and @amitisinvesting admittedly hasnt gotten into quantum.. yet haha, though I remember him saying he has been more interested in it recently, as he has mentioned meeting people who support it at events with Palantir or other tech events. As well as finds it interesting that the gov actually did take stakes, especially after the rumors from October. That being said I do think he and many others did a disservice taking the clip out of context, as it has been clear qpus will work in tandem with gpus and cpus. Although I also think Niccolo does get a little too pumpy when making statements like this and leaves the messaging open to misinterpretation! Regardless I am so excited for better clarity on quantum’s ability to improve workflows and for large people on finx and youtube to start going deeper on it 🤞🏼🥂
