$IonQ We called this one on April 4 16 days before it happened. Monroe delivered the SVS keynote today. Photos posted by Cheryl Krauss, @IonQ_Inc Global Head of Marketing & Communications, so this is coming straight from the company. New from today: → His opening line, per Krauss: the new tech revolution IS quantum, and it’s coming like a flood wall break. Different from the physics-vs-engineering thesis he ran at MIT in March this one is about timing. → Audience composition matched what the investor room was for: climate tech, medtech, hedge funds, asset managers. Not a physics crowd. → Fun detail from Krauss: when Monroe originally named the company, the letter Q was non-negotiable. Harring warmed the room on April 16 at GNPCA. Monroe closed it on April 20. Four days apart, same city. The sequence held exactly as laid out. $IONQ #IonQ #Nashville

$IonQ DARPA leadership in Tennessee. TNECD (Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development) just hosted DARPA’s Commercialization and Quantum Programs for roundtable discussions. Deputy Governor Stuart McWhorter on stage. Focus: quantum technologies, advanced manufacturing, critical minerals. And Ryan Harring is in the room. As we’ve covered extensively Harring is IonQ’s regional partnership and alliances lead in Tennessee. Present at every single quantum event in the state since January. Chattanooga offices. CO.LAB Quantum in Action. LaunchTN. Vanderbilt Quantum Forum. Now a DARPA roundtable hosted by the state government. This is DARPA coming to Tennessee where IonQ operates the EPB Quantum Center, ORNL runs quantum networking experiments, and Vanderbilt is building its Institute for Quantum Innovation. Tennessee went from quantum announcements to DARPA roundtables in four months. And IonQ is at the table. $IONQ #QuantumComputing #Tennessee

$IonQ The White House just showed up in Nashville. Inaugural AI Tennessee Summit. Dr. Ethan Klein U.S. Chief Technology Officer, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy keynoting on national AI priorities. Deputy Governor Stuart McWhorter on stage alongside him, positioning Tennessee as a national hub for emerging tech. McWhorter met Klein privately to discuss continued federal-state collaboration on innovation. Tennessee’s official line: “committed to fostering an environment where emerging technologies and innovative companies can grow and thrive.” Now put this in context with what we’ve been tracking for months. Tennessee is where $IONQ built its quantum beachhead: → EPB Chattanooga first commercially available quantum network in the U.S., powered by IonQ’s Qubitekk → EPB Quantum Center IonQ Forte Enterprise confirmed $22M deal → IonQ offices open in Chattanooga suites 901, 904, 905. Ryan Harring on the ground full-time → ORNL (Oak Ridge) experiments running on the quantum network, $125M Phase II for the Quantum Science Center → Vanderbilt Institute for Quantum Innovation campus planned in Chattanooga → LaunchTN Tennessee’s state-backed economic development org already presenting quantum as a job creation priority. Janet Rehberg (EPB CEO-elect) carried that message two weeks ago → White Paper from Center for Regional Economic Research: $1.1B economic impact, 2,000+ jobs by 2035 The White House OSTP coming to Nashville for an emerging tech summit while IonQ is quietly building America’s first quantum corridor across the state from Chattanooga to Nashville to Oak Ridge is not a coincidence. It’s convergence. Dean Acosta already briefed the White House on quantum last month. Katie Arrington (ex-DoD CIO) is IonQ’s CIO. The federal-state pipeline was already warm. Now the OSTP is physically in Tennessee. $IONQ #QuantumComputing #Tennessee #IONQ

$IonQ 📝 New article from @rtharring Ryan Harring (Sales Director, @IonQ_Inc) on why U.S. quantum leadership matters now more than ever. Key insights: 🔹 Quantum is no longer a science project it's a strategic national capability 🔹 Reauthorizing the National Quantum Initiative Act is critical (Sen. Marsha Blackburn's Jan 14 op-ed in The Tennessean) 🔹 Tennessee as a real-world quantum case study: → Oak Ridge National Lab advancing quantum + HPC + AI → EPB Chattanooga launching its own quantum cloud platform powered by IonQ 🔹 IonQ positioning shift: not just a quantum computing company, but a "quantum platform company" delivering integrated compute, networking, security, and sensing across real-world environments 🔹 Global context: China investing billions. Quantum leadership = national security imperative. "Every major technological shift has a moment when leadership is decided not retroactively, but deliberately. Quantum is at that moment now." The race isn't about breakthroughs in labs anymore. It's about deployable platforms across land, sea, and air. 🔗 linkedin.com/pulse/americas… #QuantumComputing #NationalSecurity #NQIA #QuantumPlatform

$IonQ ⚛️ Behind the scenes at @OxfordIonics , @IonQ_Inc UK subsidiary This video shows the team building the world’s most powerful quantum computers. Their philosophy: “people, science, and coffee.” Their systems already serve defense, pharma, and national security clients. And this is just one piece of the puzzle: IONQ also recently acquired Vector Atomic, the leader in quantum sensing with $200M+ in government contracts, including the Pentagon’s X-37B program. Compute + Networking + Sensing = the only full-stack quantum platform in the world. These teams see themselves as the “Microsoft founders” of their era. Given the trajectory, hard to argue with that. $IonQ 🚨 “No other company in the history of the world has ever been able to deliver a full quantum solution.” That’s @IonQ_Inc CEO @NiccoloDeMasi . On Bloomberg. Here’s what he revealed: ⚛️ Tempo → 36 quadrillion times more powerful 🛡️ Quantum cybersecurity — on the ground and in space 💰 2 million qubits for less than $30M 🧩 The only 5-in-1 platform: compute, security, networking, communications & sensing The gap with competitors? It’s only getting wider. 🏎️ Think of it this way: Imagine tech is a Formula 1 race. While every competitor is still figuring out how to tune their engine, IONQ just announced they have a car 36 quadrillion times faster and they also built the highway, the gas station network, and the satellite navigation system for everyone. They’re not running the race. They own the circuit. 5 years ahead. And accelerating. 📺 Watch the full Bloomberg interview 👇 #IONQ #QuantumComputing #Bloomberg #Investing

Great question! Current computers process information using binary states (0s and 1s), which are fundamentally different from how quantum computers operate. Quantum computers leverage quantum bits (qubits) that can exist in superpositions of states, thanks to the principles of quantum mechanics, including wave-particle duality and interference. While both involve wave-like phenomena at different scales, the underlying mechanisms and applications differ significantly.

Thank you! Great point about quantum-resistant cryptography—it’s a critical step for long-term resilience. As for blockchain, I see it evolving in two ways: implementing quantum-safe cryptographic algorithms to secure transactions and leveraging quantum computing itself to optimize consensus mechanisms and scalability. The intersection of these technologies will be fascinating to watch! What’s your perspective?
