Im well into my 30s now and have never been on a single date with any woman. It feels like such a burden to try and ask anymore. It pains me to say it that I may be single for the rest of my life. It is a sad reality for those who really try, yet some get right to it fresh out of high school or just a few years after; I am 16 years removed from that time, hard to believe how time flies. It is not fair to those who want to have kids that many would abort because it is a "burden" or simply "cannot afford it", instead they focus on careers and social influence and status. Im just a nobody who wants to settle and start a family of my own. Im one of the very few fiscally responsible to hold my own too; I have a respectable job with great benefits and a 401 too and yet trying to fulfill my life with joy and happiness with a family of my own just seems out of reach. Jesus is all the joy to me that will never cease and His love endures. I want to change for the better and build a better life with God in charge of it. To all single women who might read this and is on the same boat as I am, you'll eventually find your Jack Dawson out there and hopefully the ship does not sink for both of you. Love and Blessings.

After Daddy died in 2009, my baby sister was taken by DSS. She was 14 years old. I tried to fight for custody but lost. My aunts tried and lost. Several cousins tried and lost too. None of us had a criminal record. All of us had jobs and ample room for my sister. Still, DSS refused to place her with family. She aged out of the system. The system broke her. It alienated her from her family. She still struggles with feelings of isolation. That same system, which refused to hand my sister over to loved ones who would have nurtured and guided her, constantly places other children in deadly situations. Why do we grant a bureaucratic agency full say over the most vulnerable population in North Carolina with zero oversight? It’s tyranny. There’s no other word for it.

this is what trauma looks like. you heartless lizards who taunt her daily deserve to feel the pain she does. she deserves a day of peace. a day where the smile she wears is truly authentic rather than bravery for her husband’s mission and her children.
