I had a response from the @transportgovuk requesting that I redirect my enquiry to @DHSCgovuk instead (I did send to both). I appreciate clinical trials come under the remit of the @sajidjavid but the international travel aspect surely involves discussions with @grantshapps?

Passed on to my trial team and they said they hoped it would be approved by September. Suggest anyone who wants to travel this summer considers getting an approved vaccine ASAP.

@novavaxUKvol I had a reply from MHRA on progress of #novavax approval. They said "Unfortunately, we cannot give you a timeline for when the company will be in a position to finalise their data submission ....."

@grantshapps Sir, Please could i ask that you help all Novavax trial participants who are being disadvantaged regarding travel, 7500 UK folk who are fully vaccinated with Novavax, a very safe and very effective vaccine, were promised they would not be disadvantaged.

@Charles79768104 No unfortunately not, its up to individual states in the EU which vaccines they accept.....I think only Greece have said they will accept #novavax along with the unapproved Chinese and Russian jabs....

@nadhimzahawi when will Novavax trial participants be treated like anyone else with a vaccine? Volunteers are unable to travel and unable to get licensed vaccines……you are harming the chance of success in future vaccine trials run by the fantastic @NIHRtakepart

NIHR can confirm to vaccine trial participants that they have the same status as people who have received a deployed vaccine. A mini-certificate equivalent to that you'd receive on the 119 service from the NHS will be issued to all participants. (1/2)

@novavaxUKvol @grantshapps @sajidjavid @nadhimzahawi Emailed the MHRA to see when they expected to approve Novavax or rather just to get some information on where it is in the process. Alas it’s being dealt with as a freedom of information request and therefore they won’t reply for 20 days 😠
