Lovely senior Irish tweeter David O'Brien, who you may know better as @thepainterflynn and now tweets from @oddweirdadvice is currently in hospital in Nenagh. The hospital will release him if he can find suitable accommodation. David previously had a house which he sold some years ago when he moved to live with his brother. His brother is sadly now deceased and David's subsequent accommodation is no longer available to him. David does not want to go into a nursing home if he can help it. Although disappointingly no alternative accommodation has been sourced for him by the State, he is hoping it may nonetheless turn up through the goodwill of Irish twitter (also, he says things usually do turn up in the end). It would be great if he were to be proven right! If anyone is interested in offering David accommodation, please contact him at @oddweirdadvice. He is cut off from his enormous number of old followers at @thepainterflynn because of Twitter issues with that account.

I've been staring at these flooring samples for THREE WEEKS and I'm starting to think I'm losing my mind - which one actually works with these cherry cabinets without making my kitchen look like it's stuck in 2005? My husband says they all look the same (useless), my sister votes for #2 but she also painted her living room neon green so questionable judgment there, and the flooring guy keeps pushing #4 because it's "trending" but I'm terrified of spending thousands on a trend… En voir plus

Dress Regret!!! My wedding is one week away!! omg! And I'm having the biggest case of dress regret. I bought this dress (pictured above) in a kind of frenzy. It's real silk (and the fabric is really incredibly gorgeous up close). The dress was originally $2500 and it was on sale for $600 in a sample sale, and the salesperson said I only had two days to decide before the sale ended. So I grabbed it. I got the dress altered. (It was a little too long for me and the bust cups were too big for me) and the alterations are fine. But I'm just so stressed about it. For one, I'm freaked out that the dress is going to slide down a little throughout the day, especially when we're dancing. Also, I'm getting married in a church, and so I need to wear a little tulle wrap or shawl over my shoulders for that part of the day. (It looks like this shawl.) On top of it, my very conservative, Catholic mother is not a fan of it. I know it's my day, but it would be nice to have her support. (Side note: I was also thinking of just wearing my hair down long with a veil to cover my shoulders.) But more than anything, over the years that I dreamed of wedding dresses, I NEVER thought of strapless. In fact, I always told myself I'd never get a strapless dress. Then what do I do? I pick a strapless dress. Like why??? And now this is what I have. The wedding has been too expensive to go out and buy another dress at the last minute, so that's not a possibility. I just would love to hear from other brides... did you get over dress regret? And did anyone wear a heavy, long gown with a strapless top without any issues? I just want to feel comfortable on the day, and now I'm worried that I'm going to be hiking it up all day or feeling uncomfortable. Any tips, or even words of comfort would be much appreciated. Weddings are so much more stressful than I ever imagined! #fashion #lifestyle
