SHAME.
The shame of calling off my wedding on a Thursday, just one day before the big day.
Family, friends, and some guests had already arrived because I was having my bridal shower that same day. My church members had hired a custard bus to take them to the venue, as I was using my dad's larger church.
I sold clothes to everyone on my street, and they kept calling me 'iyawo iyawo' everywhere. Friends from primary, secondary, and university also bought clothes.
I had invited everyone I knew, and they invited more people — it was going to be the wedding of the town. Everything was arranged: food, drinks, cake, souvenirs, caterers, MC, DJ, live band — even the cows were bought and tied down in my father's yard.
But on that Thursday morning, after talking with my dad, I did something I should have done long ago. I took out my phone, added everyone to a group chat, sent a message, then turned off my phone and cried harder than I ever had. I landed in the hospital, returned home, and faced my shame.
People on the street and in my church said all kinds of things. Some friends accused me of only wanting money, claiming the clothes sales never meant a wedding.
It was overwhelming... I truly thought I wouldn't survive. But I did. Four years later, I realised it was the best decision I ever made. Thank you, Jesus, for strength.

There’s one thing I have come to notice about so called Pastors; they tend to say things that will make women happy because a happy woman is one member that can bring more members and more members, more money for them.
You will rarely see such Pastors preach from the Bible, they rather talk in a way to appease their customers (women).
As a man, avoid any woman that worships her Pastor because you will end up marrying her and her stupid Pastor.

I got called out recently by my female friends for not calling my guys out when they cheat on their babes.. I tried to defend, said things like “it’s not my business” or “I can’t tell an adult what to do” but inside me I knew I was wrong
At some point as a man, you have to start calling out your fellow guys who are unfaithful to their partners even if you don’t indulge in such
Silence doesn’t make you a good person, instead it propagates the narrative, it encourages it. Telling them may not change their minds but Atleast you’ve done your part, and if more men continue to call it out, maybe it might “denormalize” cheating in our society
It won’t be easy, you’ll get called names, some friendships will end but atleast you can say you don’t support cheating as a person and mean it

Few days ago I was with some friends (2 of us are married and the remaining 3 aren’t). Before I knew what was happening, the other married man came with 5 young ladies to keep us company. And I respectfully declined that I wasn’t interested (which I politely declined the lady assigned to me). Then baba just shouted ‘who carry this pastor come this hangout naww?’ Wetin I tell that man that evening. He no believe am. What is ‘who carry this pastor come this hangout naww?’ ME TO HIM: Aren’t you ashamed of yourself? A married man that’s still philandering with young girls outside in public spaces and you think it’s a flex? Oga, I don’t have to be a pastor to know what’s right and wrong. This lifestyle wey you dey live na rubbish. If nobody wan tell you, me I go clear you! Mind you, I declined not because I am afraid of anything or I am a Jew-man; I declined because I have discipline and I am a man of principle. And if you still don’t get that, then it’s on you NOT me. ::::::::::::::::: It’s high time we started clearing some stupid narrative out there about married men and women. Who says a man or woman regardless of being married or not can’t be FAITHFUL to their partners? Since when a person’s principle makes him a Jew-man? I can’t stop thinking about what I saw in the ER, I watched a woman try to get help for her symptoms. The doctor just shrugged and said, “Wait it out, maybe have a baby.” A man came in a few minutes later with the exact same symptoms and got labs, scans, referrals, everything. I just sat there, stunned. Same hospital. Same pain. Totally different care. Gendered medicine is real and it’s disgusting.
