@ZackBlatt Hey Zack, learn the name Noe Ruelas, Kicker from UCF. He will be a top of the name UDFA at the position come April. I believe he’s the best kicker in this class and has potential to have a very long career on any special teams unit in the NFL. Just needs some more exposure!

Note: The Jets signed kicker Cade York to a minimum salary ($1.145M), an indication that he’s not guaranteed the job. Should be a competition.
Other kicker on roster currently (Lenny Krieg) has no NFL experience, though he spent last season on the Falcons practice squad.
Keep in mind: Jets didn’t even sign Nick Folk until training camp last year.

@Michael_Nania Michael, learn the name Noe Ruelas: Kicker out of UCF. He's not getting enough love during this draft process! I can totally see him being a long term option for the Jets at the position. Stability. Need Mougey to prioritize him as a top of the list, first option UDFA come april!

I really like all of the re-signings they've made to emphasize running it back on special teams. It just makes it all the more curious why Folk wasn't brought back

Return ace Kene Nwangwu is returning to the Jets on a one-year, $2M deal with $1M fully guaranteed and max value of $3M, per source. Nwangwu has five kick-return touchdowns since entering the league in 2022.

@BadlandsTOJ Jet fans, learn the name Noe Ruelas: Kicker from UCF (formerly of UConn and JMU). This kid has a cannon of a leg and is accurate. @woodyjohnson4 please get your regional scouts looking at this kid. He is a phenomenal player and even better person!

Can discuss this more on tonight's podcast but in short, I think there is a reason he is going to be easily available and his name is going to create out sized noise and expectations for his level of play recently. I do also think some of the work ethic/mentality questions are a valid concern. Depending on the structure and considering the circumstance, I don't fully write anything off but feels like a bad fit for both sides.

@JCaporoso I'm a bit confused by how down Jets fans (and the Badlands crew) seem to be on Kyler. Seems like a pretty high ceiling and floor. Still young. If he gets cut, he'd be cheap (and expendable after a season if it goes badly). What am I missing? He likes videogames?

JD was effectively a bald Mike Maccagnan with better PR and less winning seasons despite being given more time and having immense draft capital during his tenure. Every bit as bad and damaging as him and Idzik and maybe worse as he was also given meaningful budget to build out FO and his lead hire was Rex Hogan
