Leadership is also about accountability. Clarification made, apology issued, and focus shifted back to unity and respect for all Kenyans.

Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta warned us against Dr. William Ruto. But in real sense; his warning was against: 1. Cheap unga. 2. Cheap cooking flour. 3. Cheap fertilizer. 4. Cheap gas. 5. Cheap sugar. 6. Cheapest fuel in Africa. 7. Creation of jobs. 8. Affordable houses. 9. A united Kenya. Thank God we didn’t fall into his trap!

The allegation that President Ruto is tribal doesn’t quite hold when you look at how his office is structured. 1. Communications: Munyori Buku 2. Spokesperson: Hussein Mohammed 3. State House operations & personnel: Dido Garba 4. State House Comptroller (operations): Maasai representation 5. Presidential projects: Dennis Itumbi 6. Hospitality: Nzile (Kamba community) 7. First Lady communications: Baraza (Luhya community) Etc... The composition reflects a broad, multi-community setup rather than a narrow or exclusionary approach.

Burundians haven’t seen fuel for the last two weeks. And yes, no protests. They know how the global situation is. Indeed we are spoilt kids.

Burundi has a fuel crisis. Malawi has a fuel crisis. Ethiopia has a fuel crisis. Mozambique has a fuel crisis. Kenya has fuel in every station, yet some people want to burn the country because prices went up. We rarely appreciate stability until it’s gone.

Diesel in Malawi is going for KSh 500 per litre and even then, it can disappear from stations for a whole week. In Ethiopia, the situation is even tougher. Fuel from the Government’s emergency reserves is now being rationed, with ambulances and security agencies getting first priority. Meanwhile, in Kenya, we complain as if we do not see how much better off we are compared to many countries around us. Sometimes we behave like privileged children who never appreciate the sacrifices made for them. NKT!

Nairobi Woman Representative Hon. Esther Passaris today joined the Ministry of Health, Kenyatta National Hospital, healthcare workers, development partners, survivors, and advocates in commemorating the International Day to End Obstetric Fistula at Kenyatta National Hospital. She noted that the survivor testimonies shared during the event highlighted that obstetric fistula is not only a medical condition, but also a dignity, mental health, and human rights issue. Hon. Passaris commended the Ministry of Health and all partners, including M-PESA Foundation, UNFPA, AMREF Health Africa, Fistula Foundation, Flying Doctors Society of Africa, and Save a Woman Fistula Foundation, for their continued efforts in restoring hope and dignity to affected women. She emphasized the need to continue creating awareness, fighting stigma, and ensuring that no woman in Kenya suffers in silence or is left behind. “Fistula is preventable, treatable, and healing is possible,” she said.

For the record, neither President William Ruto nor Professor Kithure Kindiki has ever claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta did not work. We all served in the UhuRuto administration, and we fully acknowledge that significant progress was made during those 10 years. What we are saying is simple: in just 4 years, President Ruto’s administration has delivered more than any other government managed within a similar timeframe. That is an observation based on performance, not an attack on anyone. I honestly do not understand why stating such a fact would offend people.

33,000 title deeds issued in a single day. That means 33,000 families can finally call the land they have occupied for decades legally theirs. Many had waited since 1963 without success. For years, they were forgotten. Today, they have ownership, dignity, and security. This is more than politics. This is President William Ruto delivering.

Government coordination is not guesswork or newsroom fiction. It was Professor Kithure Kindiki who constituted a high-level team of Cabinet Secretaries and senior government officials to engage Matatu SACCO chairpersons and steer the discussions to conclusion. He personally oversaw the process from start to finish. The delegation included Waziri John Mbadi, Waziri Kipchumba Murkomen, Waziri Davis Chirchir, Waziri Opiyo Wandayi, Head of Special Programmes Dennis Itumbi, among other top government figures. Prof. Kindiki operates with a leadership style reminiscent of President Kibaki’s, assign responsibility to the most senior and competent officials, allow institutions to work, and only step in directly when necessary. The team was formed immediately after a consultative online meeting with the President. That is how structured governments function. The propaganda campaign being pushed by Standard will collapse under the weight of facts.

Let’s put facts on the table. Rigathi Gachagua claims Dennis Itumbi has taken over Mwai Kibaki’s office. But here’s the full picture. The office in Nyari, Gigiri wasn’t a personal property, it was acquired by the state at a cost of KES 250 million specifically to serve former presidents. Mwai Kibaki used it for nine years until his passing. After that, it was allocated to Uhuru Kenyatta. He declined to occupy it, citing his own reasons, and instead set up operations at his private residence near State House, at the taxpayer’s expense. So now we have a fully furnished, state-owned office sitting unused. The real issue isn’t who’s “occupying” it. The real question is: should a KES 250 million public asset be left idle simply because one former president chose not to use it? That’s the conversation we should be having.

Any President, current, future, or elsewhere, will always need a Cabinet Secretary like Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen. He is the kind of leader who steps in when it matters, speaks candidly even when the truth is uncomfortable, and voices what a President may not be able to say publicly. Murkomen doesn’t confine himself to his docket. He takes initiative in resolving crises beyond his immediate mandate, demonstrating true collective responsibility. His intervention in the transport and energy situation is already bearing fruit; normalcy is returning, and operations are resuming. We saw the same during the pilots’ strike, swift, decisive action, and the issue was resolved without lingering noise. That’s the value he brings: reliability, boldness, and execution. It’s no surprise that President Ruto continues to trust him, because any serious administration would need someone of that caliber.

Those claiming it’s acceptable for London residents to pay KSh 321 for diesel because the UK is “rich” are the same people questioning why diesel is more expensive in Kenya than in Uganda. If we argue that Londoners can afford higher prices due to their economy, then we should also recognize that Kenya is a leading economic force in East and Central Africa. At the same time, diesel is retailing at KSh 251 in South Africa, raising valid questions about regional price differences.

When President William Ruto campaigned, he promised hustlers a seat at the table with kings, and he delivered. From the bottom up, he’s empowered voices like Dennis Itumbi to help shape this nation. Rigathi Gachagua must stop the hate on bloggers. Bloggers are thinkers, leaders, and decision-makers driving Kenya forward, not the cheap politics you thrive on. Itumbi, stay focused. Ignore the noise. Millions of hustlers see you, believe in you, and draw inspiration from your journey.
