Surely the only reason you bring NEITHER car in, is because you're terrified of it playing out in favour of one over the other? It's a pretty clear example of this push for equality biting them in the arse IMO. Say "easy in hindsight" all you like, EVERY SINGLE OTHER CAR pitted (bar Ocon). 🤷
