@ugcbyfi I’m pretty sure some have been doing it for over a decade, it’s just the name has changed over time. @UGCpro_ is one of the OG’s if I’m not mistaken and says UGC has been around for a MINUTE; it just wasn’t called that back then. Love her intel and resources!

A lot of “AI companies” today are built on buzzwords and ChatGPT wrappers. Meanwhile, a single builder working out of a small bedroom in Bend, Oregon has spent the last three months quietly building something from scratch. Bootstrapped. Self taught. Funded with a few thousand dollars and a lot of 12 to 14 hour days. That builder is my fiancé, Shane Murphy. He just shared a first look at something he built called Canopy, a “Harness Model” for AI agents. The idea is simple but powerful. A small neural network watches AI agents as they work and nudges them in real time to keep them on track. @EverydayJonez Those people exist and add so much value—a lot of which are our former students who are now killing it and add value to their students. I'm specifically talking about creators who pretend to know more than they really do! The two are definitely very different. Totally agree!

Sometimes, I felt that way about people giving camera/sound advice when they've only been filming for a year or two... (I've been in it commercially for 15 years) But then I also realize you can learn something from almost anyone, so I gave up that mentality. Some people are naturals with amazing talent despite their experience.

Everyone loves to throw around “expert UGC creator” or “expert Creative Strategist” but… 🫣 2–4 years in performance creative doesn’t make you “pro level.” That’s competence. Information is everywhere. Experience isn’t.

My mom has been in the hospital for 7 days. She's been experiencing health complications and was admitted to the hospital on Monday (2/16). That Tuesday (2/17) she went in for a procedure that would hopefully offer us some answers and next-steps in her treatment. I'm sharing this moment publicly because I want attention (lol JK—even though the well wishes, healing energy, and prayers have been incredible—me, my siblings, and mom appreciate the overwhelming love and support so much). So why am I really sharing this experience? Because this is one of the reasons why I worked so hard to get to where I am in my business. To be able to have the freedom and flexibility to book a same-day, last minute flight. But not only was I able to afford the flight in the first place, but because it was overnight, I could afford without thinking twice, a comfortable (first class) seat to actually get some sleep, so I could be 100% for my mom when I landed at 7am the next day. Even though this doesn't fix my mom's health or change her outcome, I realized this as I was booking my travel: I'm living the life I once dreamed of—to be able to take care of my loved ones without being limited by finances. Because when you have money you have certain flexibilities that you wouldn't be able to have the luxury of accessing without financial freedom. And even though I do believe everything's going to be okay, it's just really hard to not get emotional in these moments when I think about the things I'm able to do for my mom and siblings. For example, to get my mom to the hospital in the first place I told her: take off from work for two weeks while we navigate this and I'll pay you more than what you would have made during those 14 days (4-figures). AND I told her I would cover her deductible (4-figures). Not only that, but I booked the Presidential Suite at the Hyatt for her to recover in post hospital stay. I'm not sharing this to make you feel like crap. I'm sharing this to show you what's possible. So this is just your reminder if you are building your business right now, you need to establish a very deep-rooted "why", to keep you going on your worst days. To prevent you from throwing in the towel and giving up. My mom has been my "why" since I was a child. My "father" left her in 5-figures of debt (which I was able to afford to pay off). She is the strongest person I know, who raised three children, while gracefully playing both parental roles, juggling her lupus and cancer. My mom being my why is truly how I got my business to where it is today because even though I love treating myself (trips, fancy things, etc), ultimately the things that truly matter most, are not only going to be what gets you out of bed every day, but every time you fall back down, you're gonna have that WHY to lean on and to help pull yourself back up. And one day you will get to a point where you look up and you're like, "Oh my god! My younger self dreamed of this." So just know that I believe in you, and what you're building is so much bigger than yourself. And I'm so excited for you to reap those benefits. All the seeds that you were planting one day you will sow. And you will be grateful that you did. ❤️

If your loved one was admitted to the hospital today… could you afford a same-day flight? This past week, I found myself in this exact scenario. At 2PM I got the call. My mother's condition was worse than we thought. By 7PM, I was on a flight from Oregon to Florida. Here’s why this experience matters: Six years ago? That wouldn’t have been possible.

Six years ago I was broke. Today I can book the flight. Be there physically. Support her financially. That’s what planting seeds looks like. And you are planting yours right now. If you’re building in silence… keep going. One day you’ll look up and realize: “My younger self dreamed for this life.” Build for flexibility. Build for freedom. Build for the moments that matter. Your future self is counting on you.

When you’re in the trenches, you need a deep why. Because motivation fades. Money is inconsistent. Energy dips. But a real why pulls you back up. Mine was my mom. I dreamed of buying her a car. Did it. I dreamed of paying off her debt. Did that too. I dreamed of taking care of her when it counted. Now I can. Emphasis on NOW because this wasn't my reality until only a few years ago and it didn’t happen overnight.
