The answer is: Fusarium spp. Of note, all the fungi listed can grow on routine bacterial B/C. Talaromyces marneffei causes infection in immunocompromise/AIDS who live in/visit SE Asia, S China.

It was an exciting week for our team to end the wk with another interesting case. Pt returned from Karachi, Pakistan. Developed fever, chills, myalgia~10 days after arrival. Malaria rapid Ag is neg. His blood smear as shown. What is it? The answer will be shown on Sunday.
