My developing Masdevallia ignea [Rchb. f., 1871], a cold growing orchid native to 🇨🇴 with pronounced blooms. Grows at elevations of typically 2600 to 3800 metres. #Orchidaceae

Aerangis hildebrandtii is gradually opening its enchanting little blossoms one by one, and they’re already fragrant. Overall, it has grown amazingly well and is producing an incredible number of flower spikes.✨🧡✨

I didn't attend the WOC in Dresden, but at least one of my pictures of an orchid I grow was featured in a presentation on New Guinea Bulbophyllums. Which one was it? Bulbophyllum codonanthum Schltr., from section Codonosiphon; a small epiphytic plant found growing in the lower montane forests of New Guinea and Sulawesi (900–2100 m). The flowers are fairly short-lived (4–5 days), but the plants produce quite a few flowers and are free-flowering throughout the year. The petals and lip form an interesting tunnel-like arrangement leading to the hidden column. Of all the Bulbophyllum sections, the flowers of Codonosiphon species may just be the most elegant — and they are some of my favourites.[video] ° ° #nature is my #garden with all the #amazing #tropical #orchids, #plants and #flowers of Papua New Guinea! 🌺🌿🇵🇬
