Today, we honor Justice Thurgood Marshall—a champion for equality whose tireless advocacy transformed American justice. As chief counsel for the NAACP, he argued the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case before the Supreme Court, ending legal school segregation.    Justice Marshall's legacy reminds us that the pursuit of justice requires courage, persistence, and an unshakeable belief in equality under the law. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dedicated his life fighting for equity and justice. He taught us that even in the face of intimidation and discrimination, we must never stop working towards a better future – a lesson that feels especially relevant today. Change has never been easy. It takes persistence and determination, and requires all of us to speak out and stand up for what we believe in. As we honor Dr. King today, let’s draw strength from his example, and do our part to build on his legacy.

Happy birthday, Dad. Your faith in humanity, your insistence on love over hate, and your belief that everyone can serve continue to renew me. In the darkest of times, your legacy is a light. When I feel hopeless, your spirit carries me. You will forever be in my heart.
