Energy in Afghanistan In Sare Kunda village, Samangan, solar energy is transforming daily life for women & families. Through UNDP’s SESEHA project, reliable electricity now powers Khadijatul Kubra Girls’ School & supports 18 nearby households. Read More: go.undp.org/Tbi

In Kabul’s Saroubi District Hospital, a 100-kW solar system with 180 kWh battery storage is keeping emergency, maternity and surgical services running without interruption - supporting care for nearly 17,000 patients each month. Read More: go.undp.org/Tbi

In Kunar, solar energy is helping Mangwal Girls School create brighter classrooms for around 500 girls. With an 8.8 kW solar system and battery storage, students now have access to lighting, fans, water and a revived science lab. Read More: go.undp.org/TD9

In Garmawak village of Maiwand district, Kandahar, a Cash-for-Work initiative has constructed 635.6 meters of canal, bringing water more efficiently to farmers. Beyond irrigation, the project has also directly supported livelihoods, generating 2,524 labour days.

AFG is one of the countries most affected by climate change. With @theGEF support, UNDP's Community-based Climate-resilient Livelihood & Forestry Project provided 400 toolkit packages & training to empower communities in #Badakhshan & #Kunar for climate-resilient agriculture.

At Surobi District Hospital, reliable power is saving lives. A 100 kW solar system with battery backup, supported by UNDP, now keeps emergency care, surgeries, warmers, & critical equipment running for patients along the Kabul Jalalabad highway. @UNDPasiapac @UNDP @unafghanistan

In Spin Boldak, Kandahar, the Inzergai Check Dam is helping improve water access and support local livelihoods. With support from the @JapaninAFG, UNDP helped build this project to recharge groundwater & support an estimated 700–800 surrounding villages. go.undp.org/TeS
