I participated as Vice-Chair of the Committee on World Food Security @UN_CFS in the webinar “Crisis as a Catalyst: How Philanthropies Can Use Global Food Security Architecture to Respond to Shocks and Strengthen Resilience.” I highlighted the CFS's unique role within the multilateral system. Since its 2009 reform, with the inclusion of the Civil Society, Private Sector, and Philanthropic Foundations Mechanisms, the CFS has built a governance model that brings together scientific evidence, local and territorial knowledge, inclusive participation, and political negotiation to build consensus on global food security.

Food security and nutrition are the foundation of sustainable development. At the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York, #CFS, represented by Chairperson Prof. Anas A. Al-Nabulsi reinforced their central role in achieving the #2030Agenda and the #SDGs.

Delighted to receive Professor Al-Nabulsi, Chair of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS). I thanked him for his leadership and the CFS’s valuable contributions to the 2026 #HLPF. We discussed strengthening resilient, inclusive and sustainable agrifood systems, advancing policy coherence, leveraging AI and technology for food security, and deepening ECOSOC-CFS collaboration in support of the SDGs.
