A standout presentation at #UPCC2024 came from Dr. Salman Al-Jerdi, Assistant Professor of Neurology and Director of the Neurology Clerkship at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, who delivered an insightful lecture on a heavily prevalent topic: back pain. His session engaged participants and nurtured their curiosity through an in-depth exploration of diagnostic approaches, key red flags for serious neurological conditions, and the neurological underpinnings of back pain—from spinal anatomy and physiology to the surrounding nerves and structures. It was a great pleasure to have Dr. Tania Jaber, Consultant in Endocrinology at Hamad Medical Corporation and Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, join us at the second Updates in Primary Care Conference to present on "Thyroid Function Testing: When to Treat and When to Watch.” She gave us an in-depth overview of the thyroid function panel, its clinical significance, and various thyroid conditions, outlining subclinical hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. We were honored to have Dr. Thurayya Arayssi, Vice Dean for Academic and Curricular Affairs and Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, inaugurate the second edition of the Updates in Primary Care Conference 2024.
