The solution to any problem is not government, or a political party. The solution is the foundation of how you think, speak, and act—built on the Rock of Christ and His Word. Every role flows from identity in Christ and obedience to His Word. This divine sequence, established in creation, builds a firm foundation that honors God in every relationship. Jesus on male and female: “Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” - (Matthew 19:4-6; Genesis 1:27) - (So God created man in his own image… male and female created he them.) 1. For the Man: Son → Man → Husband → Father God forms him first as a son, then calls him to mature manhood, covenant marriage, and fatherly leadership. • As sons: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” (Romans 8:14) • Manhood under authority: “The head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” (1 Corinthians 11:3) • As husband: “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.” (Ephesians 5:25) He leads sacrificially. • As father: “Fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4) “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6) 2. For the Woman: Daughter → Woman → Wife → Mother She is cherished as God’s daughter, grows in godly womanhood, enters union as wife (mirroring the Church), and nurtures life as mother. • As daughters: “I will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:18) • Godly womanhood: “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies…” (Proverbs 31:10-11) • As wife: “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:22) • As mother: “That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children…” (Titus 2:4-5) 3. For Children: “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them…” (Psalm 127:3-5) Honor Your Father and Mother — the foundation of generational strength: “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.” (Exodus 20:12) “Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee…” (Ephesians 6:2-3) We are responsible to two generations up and two generations down — teaching, honoring, and stewarding the faith across the family line so blessing flows instead of breakage. The home is the first ministry and the Body of Christ. • “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 19:14) • “If a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?” (1 Timothy 3:5) This order displays the mystery of Christ and His bride in beauty and harmony.

Different members, different measures of revelation — all for God’s glory (Romans 12:4-6) We are God’s tools, each with talents and skills. He “revealeth the deep and secret things” to those who diligently seek Him (Daniel 2:22 ). Yet we must test everything. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” (Proverbs 14:12) Do not lean to any scholar’s own understanding — catch yourself with the Word. Heiser helped many see the Bible’s spiritual warfare and divine council; Kugler warns against over-correcting into new ideas that clash with the full counsel of Scripture. Both have value, but neither is the final authority. “And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.” (1 Corinthians 12:21) “The Holy One will tread upon Mount Sinai… and appear in the strength of His might… to execute judgement upon all.” (reminds us God alone reveals truth and judges teachings). (Enoch 1:3) “…the Lord will reveal many things to the righteous… but the words of the upright will be confirmed… for the Lord is their guide.” )Enoch 104:10-13) Our part: Read, study, prove all things by the whole Bible (Old + New), pray for the Holy Spirit’s leading, and stay humble. Different parts work together for the glory of the Head — Christ. Hold fast what matches Scripture; release what does not. God uses every willing tool in His body.

I really want to be done with all the Heiser stuff (who seems to have been a lovely person and who has been rightly appreciated by many for a number of reasons). Again—because it is the only way both to be in a rush and to give some kind of order to my thoughts—enumeration: 1. Yes, too few Christians care about the historical contexts of Scripture. 2. But, often when such few people learn a little about (1), they are unnecessarily and wrongly inclined to disparage the subsequent Christian (and esp. Creedal) tradition (as if e.g. Origen, Athanasius, Basil, the Gregory’s, etc., didn’t know about various [including scriptural] cosmological traditions). 3. With respect to (2), I lament the “Historically-Critically Reconstructed Ancient Biblical Contexts” vs. “Those Later and Silly Old Creeds” rhetoric (this is, of course, very widespread). This is historically infelicitous and theologically and practically unhelpful. 4. More specifically to the case in point: Though Heiser is regarded by many unfamiliar with Hebrew Bible scholarship as radically historically-critically brave, willing simply “to go with the [foreign and disorientating] biblical contexts and texts” instead of later theological constructs, most Hebrew Bible scholars would regard his historical account of ancient Israelite cosmologies/theologies as a somewhat apologetic account that flattens out a much messier (and a bit more scandalous) history. See e.g. Mark Smith’s works. 5. Heiser was overly “prospectivist” in his biblical theology, coming with fully-formed constructs that simply did not allow for the creative, critical reception of such traditions particularly in the Christology and Pneumatology of the New Testament. 6. Having said all this: I am very glad that he has been able to get so many of us to discuss Scripture here and elsewhere. May he rest in peace, rise in glory, and may is books/lectures continue to bear fruit!

🤔 I wonder why Islam teaches that homosexual acts are a major sin, condemned in the Quran through the story of Prophet Lut (Lot) and his people. 
Key verses include Quran 7:80-81: “Do you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds? Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people.” Similar warnings appear in 26:165-166, 27:54-55, etc. This is viewed as an unprecedented transgression and “fahisha” (lewdness/abomination).  • Traditional Hadith strongly reinforce this, cursing those who do “the action of the people of Lut” and prescribing severe punishments (e.g., stoning or death for sodomy in many classical interpretations). Desires may not be sinful if resisted, but acting on them is haram.

What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas”; still another, “I follow Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul? I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, so no one can say that you were baptized in my name.
