Let’s all spend time in the coming weeks praying for all the men who are being ordained deacons or priests My diocese, Steubenville, has two men getting ordained priests this year, our first new priestly ordinations in five years! How many men are being ordained in your diocese?

@USBishopsData Two. Because, same diocese. Both are truly incredible, and- barring a merger- we've got some wonderful seminarians coming along in future, too. Blessed to have to have met and gotten to know several of them.

Tomorrow, May 14, is the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord. In the Dioceses of the United States, the obligation to attend Mass exists in the Ecclesiastical Provinces of Boston, Hartford, New York, Omaha, and Philadelphia. Pursuant to Canon 1246 §2 of the Code of Canon Law, the solemnity has been moved to the following Sunday in all other provinces of the United States, so in those locations, there is no obligation to attend Mass tomorrow and the Feast of Saint Matthias, Apostle is celebrated. The obligation to attend Mass tomorrow exists in the following (arch)dioceses: Boston, Burlington, Fall River, Manchester, Portland, Springfield in Massachusetts, Worcester, Bridgeport, Hartford, Norwich, Providence, Albany, Brooklyn, Buffalo, New York, Ogdensburg, Rochester, Rockville Centre, Syracuse, Grand Island, Lincoln, Omaha, Allentown, Altoona-Johnstown, Erie, Greensburg, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Scranton.
