For USS CONSTITUTION enlisted sailors, a hammock on the berth deck was home. Hundreds were slung from the beams overhead, packed closely together. Each sailor also had a blanket and a pad stuffed with cattle hair to make life at sea a little more bearable. 📸 Courtesy U.S. Navy
