USW Diesel Particulate Project

Proposed @WSIB appeal deadlines would devastate workers access to justice. It has taken decades for the board to recognize science our miners have always known. Only now can these people finally move forward with appeals and be successful.

Because of replacement Worekrs, my strike lasted too long. When you dangle a lot of money in front of a worker who is desperate, they get used by the company and left behind. It’s really important that we have #AntiScab legislation that prevents these workers from being used.

A delegation from USW Local 6500 was in Toronto last week at the Steelworker National Policy Conference. They successfully lobbied and passed a resolution that would see diesel particulate on the agenda, across the country. solidarity brothers and sisters ✊ #uswnpc2023

Today, president of USW local 6500 Nick LaRochelle along with minister of labour @MonteMcNaughton announced a good first step towards ending occupational illnesses from diesel. We will continue to advocate for scientifically safe levels of diesel emissions for our workers
