@UtdXclusive There’s no way Bruno’s wife agrees to move to Saudi given the situation over there right now

🚨 BREAKING: Bruno Fernandes was very close to leaving United for Saudi Arabia a year ago and he is believed to be seriously considering heading for the exit. The big-money Saudi offer remains on the table but Fernandes also has a release clause of £57M that can be triggered by top European clubs. [@alex_crook, @talkSPORT]

🚨 NEW: Manchester United and Chelsea are among the clubs keen on signing Taras Mykhavko from Dynamo Kyiv in the summer transfer window, but there is interest in the defender from other top Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur. A left-sided central defender, Mykhavko, 20, has already earned his senior debut for Ukraine national football team and has established himself as a key figure for Kyiv since making his first-team breakthrough in 2023. @DanLevyTheMan69 @aphillip712 @mb_02x @Ole_is_right Yes obviously but they will train differently because it’s completely different type of sprinting. Footballers will never truely hit their top speed because they aren’t training for it. Take the fastest NFL player out of pads, make him play a full 90 then race Mbappe, he’ll lose

@aphillip712 @mb_02x @UTDGeorge7 @Ole_is_right It’s like you completely ignore the real world. Soccer players do a ton of speed training. Unless you’re really arguing mbappe would run 27 mph if he trained like a sprinter the difference is really not that big.

This is an insane take, because pulisic is 5’10” (178 cm) and can dunk a basketball (vid in next tweet), which requires a 30-35 inch (75-90 cm) vertical jump— the *low end* of which is something that less than 1% of the general population, and approximately 5% of professional athletes can do. It is squarely in the average range (28-32 inches) for even *NBA* players He registered a top speed of approximately 21mph (35 kph)— the same as Lamar Jackson and Russell Westbrook— who are considered one of the fastest QB’s in NFL history and one of the fastest players in NBA history, respectively. That speed is, essentially, a high end for explosive runs in endurance-oriented sports. There’s no professional footballer who can be considered an “average” athlete— the same for NFL and NBA players. These guys get millions for being freaks. And they are all, legitimately, freaks.

Americans in football argument hilarious cuz pulisic is the most average athlete you’ll see and he found success in Europe

@DanLevyTheMan69 @aphillip712 @mb_02x @Ole_is_right And maintaining endurance has has the biggest effect to decrease those other factors. Those NFL players can solely focus on explosiveness/speed because they do it in a vacuum then get a rest, a football is going for over 90 minutes

@spwidz @prime_jordan1 And to flip your argument, all of everyone else’s top athletes all play football instead and because the leagues run so deep it soaks up so much talent from their nation solely into football the US is just more sport diverse because it doesn’t have a national sport

@prime_jordan1 Use your head. The US has the world's best athletes (look at the Olympic medal counts). Our top tier talent just doesn’t play footy. With the right infrastructure and passion, we’d easily be a top 10 footballing nation.

some american fans fully think that more muscles and a 9.9 100M sprint is more valuable in football than knowing how to pass

@mb_02x @aphillip712 @DanLevyTheMan69 @Ole_is_right I’m only using Pulisic as the example because that’s specifically who was being discussed and also because he is fairly average. Saying a footballers speed/jumping/strength in comparison to an NFL/NBA players are capped because of the endurance factor isn’t a technicality

mb@mb_02x·
@UTDGeorge7 @aphillip712 @DanLevyTheMan69 @Ole_is_right And the point I’m making is, your entire argument is just a desire to defend a decent white athlete. If we were talking about Leão, who is a far better athlete (no matter how you measure it) and a far better soccer player, you wouldnt be coming up with all these technicalities.

@mb_02x @aphillip712 @DanLevyTheMan69 @Ole_is_right The point I’m making is you’re basically comparing sprinters with marathon runners. You’re equating raw speed/jumping/ strength = athleticism but missing endurance which all football players must have and caps the 3 criteria you’re using as a metric

@aphillip712 @DanLevyTheMan69 @mb_02x @Ole_is_right Footballers just aren’t training their explosive sprinting, jumping or strength the same way the athletes in the NFL/NBA do so it’s just a stupid argument to even make. Running 2-5x further with fewer breaks over a longer period is so different to carrying a bit of extra weight

@Ole_is_right Why is no one mentioning that Pulisic is probably beating every American athlete in a 10km race by a good minute or two and I would hate to see what he would do against them on a bleep test

@bknorris9 @_____eddie_____ @Jotaz33 @Ole_is_right The point you’re missing is if you put him on a football pitch from the age of 5, he’s not hitting the same speeds/jumping reach, he’s dropping down in weight and with less weight he loses some of his strength

@_____eddie_____ @Jotaz33 @Ole_is_right obviously. the point was if you put him on a pitch from age 5, that athletic profile would’ve easily risen to the top. he’d be dogshit if he tried to play now skills wise.

@DanLevyTheMan69 @aphillip712 @mb_02x @Ole_is_right Because their body has been trained to maintain that speed for longer periods/distances. If you trained like a sprinter and played football you’d be quicker but gas after 10 minutes

@NiggaKsante @contasoparaist @Ole_is_right Have you seen Messi play in his prime?💀he was rapid sprinting but also his acceleration and deceleration especially, weirdly just as quick with the ball, insane agility and his core strength + low centre of gravity

@eaglesanalysis1 @Azil_____ @Ole_is_right Pulisic wins that race hands down. He will also specifically not be allowed to put on too much muscle. You’re basically comparing sprinters with marathon runners, only having them run 100m’s then declaring the sprinter the best runner

@eaglesanalysis1 @Azil_____ @Ole_is_right The largest factor you’re not considering is your average prem footballer covers 11k a 90 ish minute game with a 15 minute break. NFL players covers about 2k in 3 hours which is most rest. Put any NFL player in a 90 minute football match then ask them to race Pulisic in the 89th
