Honestly, having seen gambling do serious damage to people in my life...I'd advocate for: - Ban gambling companies from accepting credit cards as payment (some do this) - No targeted ads to people trying to quit - Limits of advertising in general

This is sad. I know as a politician these companies are going to spend a billion dollars against me for saying it but 🤷🏽‍♀️ Pervasive gambling is not good for society. It turns life into a casino, traps people in addiction & debt, surges domestic violence, and fosters manipulation.

As I said after the World Series, baseball has clearly re-established itself as the number-two sport in the country, behind football. There's no debate at this point. America wants to watch March baseball more than the culmination of the NBA season. The WBC final comfortably outdrew Games 1-6 of the 2025 NBA Finals and beat the series average. Before you pin that on Thunder-Pacers, the WBC Final also outdrew Game 4 of the 2024 NBA Finals and was 500,000 viewers shy of beating the series average. 2024 featured two top-10 TV media markets, legitimate NBA star power in Luka, and NBA royalty in the Celtics. There should be panic at NBA headquarters over this, and MLB should be terrified of a work stoppage that would kill this momentum.

@KasperStats This take will never make sense to me. People gamble on sports. Players/coaches/execs obviously should not be able to gamble on their own sport. Executives can’t trade stock with inside information. It’s the same idea and a very easy logical rule to follow

D1 is last level where you can play truly suffocating defense. Teams like Houston epitomize this (among others). ‘One and done’ and suffocating/exotic defense are the 2 biggest reasons that March Madhess is the ‘best viewing experience’ in basketball. In the NBA, the average fan confuses passive coverages with ‘lack of effort’ and ‘no defense’. The reality is that aggressive coverages get punished the higher you go; there is no other option unless the rules change.

@Challenger_ST Rey Ordóñez, in the 90’s, makes that play 100 times out of 100%. It wouldn’t even make a highlight reel. It was ROUTINE.
