Can someone tell me what I’m actually paying for?
My latest council tax bill has arrived. £330 a month.
For what?
We still have to pay extra just to have the garden waste collected.
The roads are knackered, the drains are blocked, and every time it rains the streets flood.
The local town is now devoid of shops because business rates and parking charges have made it almost impossible to trade and expensive for people to visit.
So where is the money going?
Councils spend tax revenue on vanity projects like cycle lanes that might see a bike once a decade and disability parking bays that sit empty most of the time.
Meanwhile the services we actually rely on continue to decline.
We are expected to pay more and more for less and less.
And at the same time we all see public money being spent on people who entered this country illegally and have never contributed.
So I’ll ask again.
What exactly are we paying for?
The whole system is broken.

@iAnonPatriot Look at these poor families, fleeing from their war ridden countries, with the only possible safe place in the world being the UK. Heartbreaking 💔

@neilcunningha12 @Cherryopenmind @PolitlcsUK It’s gone up everywhere as far as I’m aware. It’ll be three years in a row.

You don’t get “cracks” from a road. Perishing (cracks) comes from either a lack of usage/old tyres.

MOT today. £39 to prove my car is roadworthy. £270 for two new tyres. Old ones have plenty of tread but have developed cracks through being constantly battered by potholes. Road Tax due 1st April £195. Diesel now £1.53. Roads not fit for purpose. Where is OUR money going??

@Cherryopenmind @PolitlcsUK It’s still cheaper though isn’t it. Unlike our council tax that we were promised not a penny more on, yet we’ve seen two increases in a row, and about to be a third.

Spot the difference, or rather, spot the stunt. They set a starting price of 165.9p which is unheard of in Buxton just to stage a "25p drop".
Meanwhile, the local Morrisons is already at 152.9p. It is easy to play the hero when you create the villainous prices yourself.
Pure political theatre, nothing more.

@FergiesRightRef I’ve been saying this for ages. He is what people say Pogba was
Zero effort, passing wayward and backwards, no pace. He’s just good in tight spaces that deceive people

Was this a Penalty ?

And just after this, Newcastle have been given an incredibly soft penalty.
Dan Burn literally did this same thing about 10 minutes ago on Sesko and it’s waved away.
If that’s not admission of guilt from the referee, I don’t know what is.
Awful, just awful.
Nath@UTDNathS
That is an AWFUL decision to send Ramsey off. Second yellow for “diving”, he just slides on the floor and doesn’t appeal for anything. So so harsh on Newcastle, not what we want to see. Referees are SO bad.
