The best reason for having car in this country is that Nigeria is very dirty and it smells. The air abroad is clean. The streets are clean. You'll ride bicycle and still remain clean. You'll take bus and you'll still come out fresh. You'll take a long walk and your shoes are clean, your clothes are still fresh, and your nose is happy for the cleanliness of the air you breathe. The transport system here is embarrassing. We dont have proper bus station. Humans are queuing under hot sun. No bus etiquette with people behaving anyhow inside the bus. The seats are crowded because it carries more than it should, thus, depriving you of comfort. Even if you take uber/bolt/indrive, half thebcars dont have AC. There are no bicycle lanes. There are no clear paths for pedestrians. Everyone is fighting for right of way. The air is horrible and the street are dirty. Intercity buses abroad have toilet like the ones in a plane. You shouldn't have to reach Ore before you can find toilet to use. You should be able to use toilet as the need arises. The problems in this country are much but I expect those who are exposed to better environment to know workable solutions. I can never understand how we have leaders who frequent abroad and are still stupid.

There are three steel plants in Lagos/Ogun This steel contract could have been given to the Nigerian steel firms, guaranteed by the federation, and they would have engaged British Steel to invest in Nigeria or act as technical partners This same steel could still have been imported by Nigerian steel plants if there were capacity and timing issues, but the value and technology would have been captured in Nigeria, not to mention jobs. This is how you grow your homegrown economy. If a certain Lebanese-Nigerian owned a steel plant in Nigeria, would anyone believe that the steel contract would not be awarded to a Nigerian firm? Again, these are steel plants in Lagos / Ogun; if a policy can't favour “Lagos”, then what are we really doing? We mocked imports, now we now embrace imports because it's we we? What about Nigeria? Why is everything about a single individual who has no notable charity project or publicly listed company in Nigeria? Why does he get a pass but other billionaires don't?
