There’s no reason to refer to the Igbo people as “Ibo” if your intention is pure. Countless times, these people have pointed out, especially on this app, that the correct spelling of their ethnic group is Igbo. So,what is the issue? Why can’t we respect each other’s differences??

For those who don’t know what’s happening, here’s a short recap:
Doyin, a GELE artist, posted her craft to show how she tied GELE using newspaper.
This didn’t sit well with SOME Igbos, as they claimed they are the originators of GELE and that its original name is ICHAFU.
This came as a shock to many Yoruba women, as it has long been known that the headgear is called GELE.
Now, SOME Igbos are trying to prove a point, and it has turned into an online TRIBAL WAR
Yoruba women are defending their culture and don’t care if they are called TRIBALISTIC over it.
