#Syria: very rare case of a female torturer exposed.
Hala, a First Assistant, abused female detainees at the Air Force Intelligence prison in Mazzeh Airbase, #Damascus (2016-2024).
She's accused of beatings and numerous torture cases, incl. instances where she personally carried out additional lashings and used torture methods such as the "tire" (doulab).

She previously served as a sniper in Daraya & Yarmouk Camp and boasted about targeting civilians (once joking she sniped an elderly after mistaking him for a garbage bag).
After the fall of Assad, she rebranded herself as a hairdresser in Mazzeh 86 district - but was uncovered thanks to an investigation by @syr_television.
She has now been arrested and many testimonies from her victims were already collected, while others are called to file complaints against her ahead of her trial.
