An update from our General Manager on our VCT roster.

@TrickVAL potter aiming for one final year of ruining the image of great t2 players before 2027 makes it hard

EG made an announcement and so did the GM basically re-enforcing this idea that they are developing talent through the academy system, the question is if that is true why did you pass on 5-10 top upcoming players in the region to pick up players with a combined 20+ signed opportunities in Valorant that didn’t work? I understand the words on the screen, but the actions do not align at all. Also, this post is referring to roster management, paincakes and zerona are both capable players. Specially, paincakes, Mitch, Jakee & bdog are the players I’m referring to, regardless of skill level in these players, having 3-4 of them on the roster completely goes against the “developing upcoming talent” goal. Mind you, they picked up Bao to Tier 1 on the main roster passing over an unbelievable talent pool coming from 2025 VCL. And then with some of the best T2 funding they end up securing almost no top talent in the T2 league. This is no hate to the players at all, nobody on EG or EG Academy is bad enough to make a post about, this is just pointing out the absolutely abysmal decisions on roster management, not to mention the meta reads on both the main and academy roster.

I made a serious mistake and said things I deeply regret. There’s no excuse for it. I’m really sorry to my fans, Envy, Riot, and everyone who supports me — I’ve let you down. Ever since I started playing this game, I’ve wanted to be the best. For the past five years I’ve put in close to 10 hours a day grinding and trying to improve. During that time, especially in ranked, I’ve acted immaturely, and this is a clear wake-up call that I need to be better. This year I started taking streaming seriously, putting in around 200 hours a month when I’m not travelling. I always try to be entertaining, but I got lost and understand that doesn’t excuse what I said. As I approach 18, I want to become a better example, not a bad one. I accept my punishment and will use this time to grow and make sure it never happens again. I’m fully committed to this game and to coming back the right way.
