Bangchak Joins PTT in Holding Fuel Prices as Shell, Caltex Raise Rates Bangchak Corporation has joined PTT in holding retail fuel prices steady, even as competitors move ahead with sharp increases amid escalating conflict in the Middle East. In a statement, Bangchak said it would maintain current pump prices until further notice despite rising global crude and refined product prices. The company urged consumers not to panic or hoard fuel, stressing that domestic oil reserves and transport systems remain operating normally. Any future price adjustments would be considered in line with actual cost conditions and global market movements, it said. Earlier, PTT and its retail arm, PTT Oil and Retail Business (OR), confirmed they would not raise retail prices at this time, citing sufficient domestic reserves and stable logistics. However, other retailers have already raised prices. Shell increased diesel by 4.20 baht per litre and gasohol by 1.50 baht per litre, effective March 3. Caltex followed with a 1.80 baht per litre rise in diesel from 11 a.m., bringing Diesel Techron D to 31.74 baht per litre, while most gasohol grades increased by 0.90 baht per litre. #Thailand #Myanmar #Iran #Israel #US #อิหร่าน #อิสราเอล #สหรัฐ #สงคราม #น้ำมัน #ราคาน้ำมัน

The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled 6–3 that former president Donald Trump lacked authority to impose sweeping global tariffs under a 1977 emergency law, striking down a key pillar of his trade policy. The court found the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) does not authorize presidents to impose tariffs, invalidating many of the country-specific “reciprocal” duties introduced during Trump’s second term. However, tariffs imposed under other laws — including those on steel and aluminum — remain in place. Trump called the ruling a “disgrace” and said he had a backup plan. For Thailand, the decision is significant because the United States is the country’s largest export market, accounting for about 18.3% of total Thai exports, worth roughly $55 billion annually. Under Trump’s tariff framework, Thai exports were facing tariffs of about 19% on goods entering the U.S., raising concerns over competitiveness in key sectors such as electronics, machinery and food products. Analysts say the ruling could ease pressure on Thai exporters, although future U.S. tariff policy remains uncertain if alternative legal tools are used. #Thailand #US #TrumpTariffs #ภาษีทรัมป์

Wissanu Warns Barcode Ballots Could Breach Secrecy, Risk Nationwide Re-Election Wissanu Krea-ngam, a former deputy prime minister, has warned that the use of barcodes on election ballots could violate constitutional requirements for secret voting and potentially lead to a nationwide re-election if the issue is upheld by the courts. He said there were two possible legal interpretations. One is that ballots are “not secret” if barcodes can be traced back to individual voters, which would put the Election Commission (EC) in breach of Section 85 of the constitution requiring direct and secret voting. The other interpretation is that secrecy should be judged at the moment voters mark ballots in the booth, regardless of whether ballots might later be traceable. Wissanu said he personally leaned toward the first interpretation, arguing that secrecy must be permanent. If ballots could later be matched to voters, he said, they could not be considered confidential. He declined to predict whether the election could be nullified but said that if voting were deemed not secret, the EC would have little choice but to order a new nationwide poll because the same ballot format was used across the country. He also warned the commission could face legal consequences similar to those following the annulled 2006 election, when commissioners were later jailed, noting that responsibility would likely extend beyond any single official because the barcode design had received EC approval. #Thailand #เลือกตั้ง69 #เลือกตั้ง2569 #กกต #กกตมีไว้ทำไม #กกตต้องติดคุก #นับใหม่ทั้งประเทศ #เลือกตั้งโมฆะ
