"Despite those outsize Silicon Valley fortunes, most U.S.-based billionaires didn’t make their wealth in tech. About 300 came from banking and finance, compared with roughly 110 from the tech sector. Another 75 came from real estate." wsj.com/finance/invest…
Imade.@ImadeIyamu

Manufacturing has produced more new billionaires than tech globally over the past 10 years (2014-2024), driven by rapid industrialization in emerging markets.

It’s also why I’m always against any religion making its way into politics. It is used as a cover to either enrich the elites or suppress the masses. Never ends well, especially for those who support it.

There are over 15m Muslims in Russia and there’s zero extremism because people like these would be arrested, not given a position of power. Any form of extremism, even from Christians or JW is suppressed because it’s country over religion!
Rukayya 🤭@hayateey1

Western Education has done more harm than good to our society. Thats the reason some miscreants will commit blasphemy and some muslims will defend them. Any knowledge that will make me stand against my religion, ya Allah distant it from me 🙏🏼

A lot of people in the American far right think that Russia is the whitest country in Europe and that it’s the last bastion of European civilization against nonwhite people. It shows you how ignorant they are considering Russia has the largest Muslim population in Europe.
Kamil Galeev@kamilkazani

There’s indeed a certain fascination by Russia among the American far right, but this is a fascination by a far off, exotic culture - a little bit like early 1900s European far rights could be fascinated by Hinduism & Buddhism Magnetism of far off & exotic, yes, but that’s it

I firmly believe Kristi Noem initially expanded ICE/recruited her force through the member roles of extremists organizations like Proud Boys, 3%ers, and the former Identity Evropa & League of the South. Many of these members were financially struggling during Biden years, if not jailed for involvement in J6. They would be the first recruits. This new ICE charter is a dream job for them. This new employment would also explain why the groups no longer gather for public demonstrations (weird how that disappeared, no?) I believe blue state AGs have access to the names of ICE officers in their states. It’s time for journalists who were on the alt-right/neo-nazi extremism beat to work their sources and cross reference those names. Big story here.

I watched an interview that Steven Nduwku did with the owner of NORD. Steven suggested that one of the ways the government can help local car manufacturers is to increase the tariffs on imported vehicles, and the guy agreed with him. It didn't occur to literally anyone in the video that, actually, the best way is to find markets OUTSIDE Nigeria for Nigerian-made cars and pursue export discipline. The NORD guy even went as far as using America's 100% tariffs on Chinese cars as something that's supposed to be a good example, EVEN THOUGH it's well documented that this is responsible for high car prices in the US and an erosion of the competitiveness of American car companies. Using a cautionary tale as a success story. This is exactly what I mean, Nigerians are fond of terrible policies, but cry out when the consequences bite back.

The problem with the theory of neo-colonialism is that most of the key policies that kept Africa poor are policies that were popular amongst Africans when they were being implemented. A key example is buharinomics, highly popular while being implemented, but when the consequences struck, conspiracy theorists on here started quoting NSSM 200 and saying the US engineered our downfall.

We are tragically living in a time where our patriotism and even our Christianity is being measured by how ruthless and inhumane we can be rather than by how merciful and compassionate we can be.

They’ll get paid actors to infiltrate the protests, start a riot and use military to clamp down on everyone. The exact playbook APC used in October 2020. Yet, some Nigerians support this despite being victims only few years ago!

I’ve lived in multiple parts of Nigeria and I have personally visited at least 24 states by road so I understand. My father was in the military. My family is religiously and tribally diverse. It’s no surprise I get attacked here by all sorts of bigots. I know where bigotry leads

When you demonize and mistreat the immigrant, the poor, and the marginalized, I'm not interested in hearing about your religious beliefs. You've already shown me what they are by how you're demonizing and mistreating the immigrant, the poor, and the marginalized.

Nigeria is at war with terrorists, insurgents, bandits, separatists, kidnappers, robbers and all sorts of non state actors. If you think it’s Ted Cruz and Radio Genoa that are the solution, that’s on you. I will not subscribe to religious, ethnic, racial baiting. I will continue to hold the government accountable in all the ways I can and continue to support victims of all forms of terrorism and indiscriminate violence as is within my financial and physical capacity not chase agendas on Twitter like you. I know who I am and I stand by every single thing I say, tweet, do or think.

Oh so if it's a Christian area and the Christians say they're the ones getting targeted it becomes Christo fascism?

The most insane fact about the new Huajiang Canyon Bridge isn't that it cost less than $300m to build (less than what the US spends on its military in a single morning) but that it was built with tourism facilities that will welcome 1 million visitors a year (cj.sina.com.cn/articles/view/…). They can pay for a whole range of experiences from a basic glass bridge observation (99 yuan) to extreme sports packages costing up to 2,999 yuan (which includes bungee jumping off the bridge: 163.com/dy/article/KAM…). Which means there are good chances that this bridge will pay for itself within just a few years, with tourism alone.
