Been on vacation with my family at the beach since Thursday. It was great to unplug and relax taking in some of mother natures cosmic rays, but that came with sacrifice. I didn’t watch thrones that entire time, but I’m glad to say I’m back home and it’s never been a better time to catch a sode. Will report back 🫡

the show actually toned Vhagar down. House of the Dragon gives us an ancient, weathered dragon but Fire & Blood describes something far worse: a living apocalypse. Book-Vhagar was huge and also calculative At Storm’s End, Luke’s death was less of an accident and more like a deliberate hunt. In the Riverlands, Vhagar & Aemond burned entire settlements into ashes At Rook’s Rest, the books describe a horrifying collision of blood, fire, crushed scales & dragon flesh as Vhagar’s sheer size overwhelms Meleys and Sunfyre. And unlike the mossy look from the show, book lore paints her as a scarred old war machine:bronze scales, jagged teeth, battle wounds from over a century of conquest. Even her appetite sounded monstrous. Vhagar was said to swallow horses whole and shake castle foundations with her roar. And then the scene of the Gods Eye. One final act of madness where Daemon leaps from Caraxes mid-air and drives Dark Sister through Vhagar’s eye as all three plummet toward death. The show gave us an old dragon. The books gave us a flying catastrophe that made kingdoms tremble.
