Shout out to the government of the United Kingdom. They singlehandedly doubled, possibly tripled, the value of cybersecurity people. Identity theft is going to be rampant in the next 2 or 3 years.

And to top it all off I’ve already seen posts about protests and Israel’s genocide of Palestinians being blocked as “adult content”. Couple this with new laws restricting protests and it’s easy to see growing authoritarianism in this country

Requiring real IDs is rife with potential to harm - from data leaks on insecure sites to bad actors abusing their access. Instead of “protecting the children” it instead has the potential of harming everyone in the country

The UKs new “online safety bill” seems to have come into affect, with Twitter hiding posts containing ‘adult content’ and adult sites requiring uploading your ID to visit. I wholeheartedly oppose this act. At the same time, an app in the US has had a massive leak of IDs.
