I am having an unusual (although not unusual enough) experience that is kind of traumatic and I feel like I want to record it in some way. Might be time for some journaling.

Apple TV, I do not want to watch It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown in 4k with Dolby sound. I want to watch it in slightly okay quality with seasonal local furniture store and car dealership commercials where they just cast their family as actors playing during the breaks.

@knitmeg I like to make butternut squash soup and put wild rice, pecans, and diced Granny Smith apple in it. It is the first “weird soup” recipe I ever invented, when I was in my early 20s. I eat it with wheatables crackers. (My family calls all the soups I make “weird soup.)

@knitmeg My sister has an amazing pumpkin soup recipe that evidently is the on they use at Disney around the holidays. If you like, I can get it and send it to you. Then you could just chuck some wild rice in at then end.

@sportswithjohn Pumpkin vines and sunflowers grow enormous, yet are annuals. If you plant a bare root native perennial, the 1st year it will put all its growth into the roots. The 2nd year, above ground. The 3rd year you might get flowers. Sustainable growth. They are in it for the long haul.

We are not the first channel to reach one billion views (or even the first John & Hank-founded channel; SciShow and Crash Course both got there long ago). But I think we might have taken longer to reach one billion views than any extant YouTube channel. A testament to survival.
