@pkalphachase 1. They are economists. 2. They have the data. There are various high frequency indicators apart from monthly CPI. 3. The news about two committee members was in the last meeting. 4. Don't worry, stock exchange will be fine. It's better to be prudent than repeat the last cycle.

A very wrong decision by SBP. Why they need a rate increase when we don't have any inflation data for this month which will be released next month? I am not an economist but they are wrong and they should have waited for the data. Even if there were reports of only 2 committee members voting in favor of rate increases, the interest rate is increased by 100BPS. This is shameful. It is like: making a grave for a healthy human being. Shame on them.

What are we to do with a ceasefire if oil is trading at 103. Its now close to 2 months , this isint a blip in inflation, this is very very real now and this will disturb the inflation / interest rate cycle.

The National Bank of Pakistan is facing serious scrutiny after a record delay in distributing nearly PKR 18.5 billion in dividends, despite announcing a hefty 350% payout (Rs. 35 per share) on February 24, 2026. Shareholders who were locked in during the March book closure are waiting and waiting. The implications are serious. Holding funds weeks after approval damages investor confidence in the PSX and raises concerns about governance and sovereign reliability. Bottom line: this is less about default risk and more about state control delaying market discipline but the credibility cost the state run NBP is real.

Now add 700 rupees per 1000 km of motor oil it 0.7 rupee extra So, the total cost of running CD 70 is Rs 7.68 per km So it's about 4.5 times more expensive than an EV per km in perfect tuning condition. In reality, it's worse in the city, 40 - 45 km per litter is the norm.

OH boy; Let's do this. A typical electrical scooter has ~25 - 40 Wh/km efficiency So with 1 kWh It's about 25km - 40 km, I will take the average, 32.5 km Round trip efficency of the LFP battery ~90% So it will take about 1.1 kWh to charge 1 kWh

I told my daughter’s Korean friend’s mom that we had to go to a government office (NADRA) to do the baby’s documentation and she congratulated me… I was so confused because….NADRA?!?!?! Actual incompetent hellscape? Then she said it’s super fast and efficient in Korea for a new baby it takes 5 mins and then they all celebrate. We’re living two different realities, Kim! 🥲

@SheikhFaizanul @husseinalishah The positives and negatives are both already reflected in the price. Think of the worst case and best case scenario for both banks and you'll see the tradeoff. For long term investments I also never liked SOEs.

Halt all ongoing PSDP with immediate effect and divert all those funds at fuel rationing ... No PSDP for next fiscal year, if the prices sustain at these level (instead use those PSDP funds for fuel rationing) This can be an approach, arguably..
