@hollywoodscifi I grew up watching reruns of TOS because my Father watched it religiously in his teens (the 60's) and shared it with me when I was growing up in the 70's and 80's. Then, TNG came about when I was in High School so of course I watched it religiously (my Dad really wasn't into it)

There are a lot of people saying the only reason people love TOS and TNG Star Trek is because of nostalgia. Maybe some, but we love them because they had truly brilliant writing, and storytelling, and characters we cared about, and great acting, and hope for a better future.

I don't know how many times on Starfield I'd be in a firefight and Sam couldn't kill one enemy..I have NMS Companions that actively hunt and kill threats.

Strom Thurmond - segregationist Democrat - switched to Republican in 1964 explicitly over civil rights. Jesse Helms. Same. The entire Dixiecrat bloc. Same. "JFK would be Republican today" - JFK supported unions, universal healthcare, progressive taxation, and civil rights. That's further LEFT than most modern Democrats. Also: "no one on the right says bring back slavery" Correct. They just pass laws making it harder for Black Americans to vote, gut the Voting Rights Act, and gerrymander majority-Black districts. Same outcome. Different language. The switch was real. The receipts have names and dates attached.
