Are you attending Mass tomorrow. Let's know your parish, the city and the state. #MEETYOURPARISHIONERONX #CatholicTwitter

I have just received fresh reports from the field and I must commend the teams on ground for sustaining the momentum beyond the sanitation hours. At Mosan bus stop and the Caterpillar blackspot along Ipaja road, massive evacuation of waste has been carried out and the area is now cleared. Along the Egbeda bus stop inward Iyana Ipaja, median evacuation is currently ongoing and the transformation is visible. At Ipodo in Ikeja, our teams are on ground with the Dino bin actively evacuating accumulated refuse. The situation at Iba town along the LASU - Igando Road is being tackled head on as we speak because the humongous waste heaps there are being evacuated and will soon be a thing of the past. I have also been briefed about the ongoing tipper evacuation under the Trade Fair bridge along the Lagos Badagry expressway and the clearance work there is in full swing. These are not just isolated operations, they are the direct result of LAWMA's sustained intervention and our zero tolerance policy for environmental nuisances. I want to assure every Lagosian that what we started with the monthly sanitation exercise is being backed up with continuous enforcement and clearing operations across the State. We will not rest until every blackspot is turned into a clean and safe space. This is the new order for a #CleanerLagos and a #GreaterLagos.

@GRVlagos let me respectfully disagree. Shutting down a city of over 20 million people is not what we are doing. We are asking residents to dedicate one hundred and twenty minutes, once every thirty days, to clean their immediate surroundings. That is not a shutdown. That is called taking responsibility. I agree completely that waste management logistics, from collection to disposal to recycling, are critical. That is why we have spent the past year strengthening those very systems. We have banned single use plastics, we are converting Olusosun landfill to energy, we are deploying biogas facilities in our markets, we are partnering with Lafarge to turn waste into valuable resources, and we are empowering young innovators with technology to improve sanitation access. These are not cosmetic actions. They are structural changes to how Lagos manages waste. But here is what I also know. No system of waste management, no matter how sophisticated, will succeed if citizens refuse to take basic responsibility for their environment. You cannot complain about flooding while dumping refuse in drains. You cannot demand a cleaner city while sweeping waste into the road. You cannot blame government for a dirty environment when you are unwilling to clean the front of your own house. The monthly sanitation exercise is not a substitute for systemic reform. It is a complement to it. It is about rebuilding a culture of environmental stewardship that has been lost over time. Technology and infrastructure alone cannot save a city whose people have abandoned personal responsibility. We welcome objective criticism that offers solutions. But dismissing a civic exercise as unimaginative, while offering no alternative path to citizen participation, does not move us forward. #LagosSanitationExercise

JUST IN: 🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran officially closes the Strait of Hormuz again after US says it will not end its blockade.

In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of ceasefire, on the coordinated route as already announced by Ports and Maritime Organisation of the Islamic Rep. of Iran.

BREAKING: President Trump announces the US Navy will begin “blockading any and all ships trying to enter or leave” the Strait of Hormuz, effective immediately, on Truth Social. Trump says the talks failed solely on Iran’s refusal to abandon nuclear weapons, and that the Navy will also interdict vessels in international waters that paid tolls to Iran.

6am mass people dey try oh…why am I rushing to mass abeg 😭😭😭

@Letter_to_Jack I like this guy. But it's Ogun to Abuja not Iperu to Abuja. We don't say Ikeja - Abuja, instead it's Lagos to Abuja. Let Iperu breathe small. But in all, you're doing great. You're in your beast mode.
