Post-Lecture Student Town Hall
This platform will create space for structured reflection on the arguments raised during the week, with particular attention to student voices, civic responsibility, and the role of institutions in carrying Pan-African commitments into practical life. It is worth noting that the Town Hall will take place in the 50th anniversary year of the 16 June uprisings, a moment in which the fears, hopes, and aspirations of South Africa’s young people for a better future were sharpened into action.
Rather than treating students as a closing audience, the Foundation and UNISA want this final engagement to operate as a site of response. It should ask what was heard during the week, what remains contested, and what obligations now fall on universities, students, the youth, women, public leaders, and citizens in renewing South Africa and reaching for the South African promise.
