We were in Asahi-dake and found a wallet in the street. Brought it to a government office. Didn’t leave my name. Later in our hotel a staff member brought us a box of cookies from the owner. They tracked me down. I guess there weren’t that many bald Americans in town that day. 🤣

今日、東京で用事を済ませて家に帰るJR電車の中で、リュックを置き忘れて降りてしまいました。 中には財布（現金10万円以上）、MacBook Pro、時計、そして結婚指輪まで入っていました。 慌ててすぐにJRの遺失物センターに電話で問い合わせたところ、まだ届いていないという返事をもらって、胸がざわっとしました。 諦めようかと思ったのですが、1時間後にもう一度遺失物センターに電話したら、誰かが直接リュックを持って駅員さんに預けてくれたらしく、私のバッグと思われる遺失物が届いたとのことでした。 お礼をしたいと思ったのですが、リュックを届けてくださった方は連絡先を一切残されていなかったそうです。 私はこういうところで、日本にまた一つ感動してしまいます。 私のリュックを駅員さんに届けてくださった、匿名の親切な方へ、心から感謝申し上げます。
