@ICMoveMentXBL @AlexInCyber @DallasTexasTV That's where eddy currents come in, no actual power is needed for that to come into play. An example you can find online is a magnet and a copper tube. The magnet isn't affected by the copper normally, but if you drop the magnet through the tube it will be slowed down.

@DallasTexasTV I hate how much videos like these make people terrified of rollercoasters. Like yes walking down stairs at those heights can be terrifying, but the fact the rollercoaster stopped going up means all the safety systems are functioning properly.

@AlexInCyber @DallasTexasTV Even if the ride loses power, the brakes will still always work. Their default position (even when there is no power) is going to stop the train

@DallasTexasTV I'd be less nervous about walking down that coaster than if the power failed while you were riding it. Imagine not having a braking system to control the train.
