Reasons I stopped smoking: 1. Promise to my wife after decades of her incessant nagging 2. $12 per fucking pack 3. dipshit Zoomers suddenly deciding smoking is cool, thereby ironically making it uncool

In 2018, a bizarre and shocking incident occurred at Russia’s Bellingshausen Station in Antarctica when one scientist stabbed his colleague for repeatedly spoiling the endings of books. Engineer Sergey Savitsky, 55, attacked 52-year-old researcher Oleg Beloguzov with a kitchen knife after becoming furious over his colleague’s habit of revealing plot twists in the novels Savitsky was reading. The assault is believed to be the first recorded case of attempted murder on the Antarctic continent. Savitsky had turned to books as an escape from the extreme isolation and harsh conditions of polar life. However, the combination of constant spoilers, prolonged confinement, and alcohol consumption ultimately pushed him to violence. Beloguzov survived the stabbing and was evacuated to Chile for medical treatment. Savitsky was charged with attempted murder but was later released to house arrest in Russia. The case drew international attention and highlighted the serious mental health challenges faced by researchers living in extreme isolation for long periods.

When I was a college student, I once addressed a professor as “Mister” and he condescendingly tut-tutted me and said “Doctor.” Hey, listen, unless you can save someone’s life or you’re Julius Erving, you can settle the fuck down with that energy.

Boone says -Caballero should need just 10 days to return from finger fracture -Caballero fought to stay off IL -Volpe will be everyday shortstop for now -There wasn't consideration for anyone besides Volpe -Expects Caballero to be starter again when back

@TalkinYanks He’s actually a very good fielder, normally. Maybe he’s warming us up for the return of Volpe.

This should've been a double play but instead it's an E6 on Max Schuemann. It's the first error by a Yankees shortstop since April 13

@ScottUpham @BBGreatMoments Mark Belanger with 40+ WAR illustrates how great a fielder he was. Ozzie and Belanger are the two best defensive SS’s I’ve seen, and absolute peak I think Belanger was the best.

@theiaincameron The body is reportedly no longer there as the Chinese supposedly removed it or tossed down the mountain to remove any evidence George Mallory summited from the North Ridge before the Chinese did in 1960.

Did George Mallory make it to the summit of Everest in 1924, 29 years before Edmund Hillary? Mallory never returned to tell, and his body remained missing for 75 years. In 1999 a team found Mallory, with what remains one of the most neck-hair raising videos on the internet.
