You're entitled to your own preferences, but if you were truly a fan of old games, then you should be more than capable of seeing that modern western game development is delivering soulless, lesser quality products.

This makes a good point. There's a pseudo kind of rationality that is actually opposed to reason.
Pegging 0 and 100 to the freezing and boiling of water is a good way to establish scientific uniformity regarding temperature, but why ought this kind of thing carry over into ordinary human living, in which Fahrenheit's decision to set 100 as "human body temperature" seems like an extremely excellent idea as far as human lived experience.
This is why metric time never caught on. It's inhuman, although superficially "more rational" if you mean something like "works on 10s" as "rational."
That's the difference. Reason says "build the optimal system of time or temperature that humans, in accordance with human nature, will most benefit from." Rationality says "use a system based on 10s no matter what, no matter how much it harms your species."
